In 2005 I took a friend of mine to Umarkot. What an experience it was for him. The highlight was when we sat on a high 'bhit' sand dune and watched the sun go down. Then I asked him to about face and look to the East. Over the horizon a faint glow appeared in a while. He asked what it was. I said watch. Then slowly the moon rose, it was 14th of lunar calander. How many of us have seen a moonrise? My first venture into Thar was in 1982, I drove from Karachi straight to Ahmad Tar for a 4 day camp. Yes, Northern areas are beautiful but Sindh can hold its own. Explore.
