Almost a year ago I unboxed an AK Gold Arabesque and sold it for 1850€ with only the stars you got from the operation pass. I still can't believe it and it definitely change my life financial wise back then.
I know the feeling. I opened desert hydra fn day 1 of the collection release. quite possibly one of the first, if not THE first opening of that item in the world. Sold it to a skintrader from my country for what is mine 5 month salary (and no I don't struggle working low tier job) It could've been paid off 5 month vacation.
yeah luckily this can never happen. if you see the knife logo you get it, it only spawns when you have a roll that hits a knife thankfully. but i think for a short time in 2014-15 it actually came up like a normal skin so you would get baited, im not sure though i just remember seeing anomaly open something back in the day and a knife came by, i could be wrong
It happened to me when the huntsman case got released and stopped literally 1 cm or 2 away from the knife. This was the closest I ever got to getting a knife and it still haunts me to this day

Butterflies in general. Had an FN 0.025 float 97% Fade that I bought for 300 and sold for 400. Right afterwards prices went up to 1000 and now we're at 3.5k or so. Not nearly as bad as your case though lol
i've never been that interested in skins or trading etc, but even in know that there are skin sites where you can sell for real money and get like 1k more on good knives lol
