Hello Bittersteel, thanks alot for helping my save! I thought that i was locked out of the bonusses against Japan (focus tree) simply cause you don't get the decisions to remove the negative modifiers (since you don't have the negative modifiers that china gets as the guanxi clique). But i didn't realise i was in an offensive war! Most of my decisions i agree, they were very idiotic. At some point the sovjet union stopped giving the nice strategic resources that i needed to supply my army, so i was desperate to get some navy to maybe, just maybe, secure a steel naval route :( . Also since that savegame, i did some other games with mild succes, but one constant is that either the allies fail horribly and allways lose India / Australia / Indonesia. Also they keep losing to Germany!. Sorry you had such a stressfull game, i enjoyed so much to see those Japanse divisions get deleted and overal it was so satisfying to see you save my game!
I'm impressed you kept it going for so long. All in all, you gave me everything I needed to work with, so I had fun, even if I sound dead inside :D
im really happy that you responded. ive been curious every single disaster save what the original person was thinking.
If you're wondering, it'll be because they changed their export law so they'll be exporting fewer resources or even none.
Oh God !
@@Bitt3rSteel Hey, pro-tip for situations like Hong Kong: Keep a stack of spare divisions behind the line, and when divisions in combat get disorganized, force retreat them from the tile, and simultaneously move divisions in from the spare stack. Rinse and repeat as needed.
It's a bit micro-intensive, but the tile will surely hold, if you can reinforce quickly enough, and you don't move divisions too late.
“How did you let it come to this?”
“How did you let mighty China fall so low?”
Wdym? This is a historically accurate China. He’s just a really good role player.
It didn’t take USA 1948 to reach Japan though. And Japan isn’t going to survive 11 million casualties. The country will collapse.
Even the desperation of fighting Japan alone is historically accurate (1930's to 1941)
I was patiently waiting around for a video, and this pleases me.
The initial shock of seeing the borders was great
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@Bitt3rSteel I sure did, fear the genius of general ma ma
When railroading troops to the front line (if you're manually doing it) railroading to 1 or 2 provinces away, then have them walk, they usually gain enough org back to hold.
You can also split them out, strat redeploy for the front and then last stand or force attack them.
4:15 Mechanized I gives a boost to Motorized Hard Defense, so it's not a bad idea.
Tjays only if you have them in the divisions with time or something like that it’s not just you research that and you get the bounes
Does it actually or does it just increase the hardness therefore giving them a bit of protection from soft attack?
@Bitt3rSteel, when you do these "disaster save" videos, could you please add a sentence or two summary at the end stating the key points that resulted in victory? For example you could say, "adding anti-air to all divisions and deleting some to recover equipment allowed the Chinese forces to survive long enough for the Allies to render aid." This would help me internalize the lessons I've just learned and better apply them when I get stuck in my tough play throughs.
This!
Watch the video and make your own summary, he's literally shown you how to recover from a hellsave
That will detrimentally affect video performance so no sadly
Hopefully the next DLC makes the AI more competent with its supply update. I find the AI always screws itself over because it attritions itself, as well as your troops, to death.
Now that No Step Back is out, do you think it has?
@@aidenbooksmith2351 I do notice less AI Stacking, but they still stack quite a bit
Its more exploitable now with the nodes.
This China really doesn't look to bad, this seems to be more of the AI's fault and not beating Germany/Japan than anything else. Just minor mistakes that added to it.
Also Converted Battleship Carrier? *Giggles*
7:03 *Also Giggles*
Hey, ya gotta make it with what ya got!
This dude is so talented with this game, I’m a complete beginner with HOI4 so I know NOTHING. But seeing a dude who seems to know everything about every country is nice. Keep up the good work
I love this series. It’s awesome to see how you manage to get things back on track.
Glad you enjoy it!
This was a damn good video brother!
Thank you kindly!
Here a suggestion: start this very same save, but as Germany. It won't be as hard as it was the last Germany challenge but still will present an good challenge.
Watched the whole of it. Amazing gameplay!
10:08 I felt that so hard. Even worse when they so.ehow maintain full supply and take no attrition
22:35 This is really just a test of endurance for him
For situations like HK there I find its generally better to just completely manually make sure it doesn't fall, you are winning but they just constantly wear down organisation, so just like having enough to fill the combat width and then manually switching the divisions as they run out of org tends to do better from my experience, assuming that you want the results enough to go full micro on it. It does generally mean that the bubble says you are doing worse but the actual results end up better.
Though Congrats on saving this one; it seemed quite far gone - I probably wouldn't have been able to, though I would probably give up by that point.
I love it how this video is so exciting and the sweet victory is just sweet
I've seen multiple youtubers with saved games videos. Have no idea why you're my favourite. But def, def keep it up!!!!
I just love these rants about allied AI. I feels good to get it out of my system.
Love the saves, and i'm learning a lot about the game
Sponsored by the Kuomintang
Nice
Hello fellow Australian
You mean the "new guanxi clique"
20:31 Mama heard and came to pick you up
As someone who often plays up to 1950 I will admit the game can be pain by that point
47:25 : "Japanese Pakistan"
That was actually Pakistani territory before the Bangladeshi war of independence in the 1971
"It's 1948, who even plays this long?"
Meanwhile I'm actively playing on my 1976 save
Bitt3rSteel the Rambler here!
Except he actually wins
Bittersteel you should have researched and added mountaineers to your 14-4 template. As you say bormal 14-4 are bad at pushing but change it with mountaineers and hills become plains and mountains hills HUGE boost
Good point
were you the person who made the reddit post about the 100 divisions in hong kong?
Yeah, was too funny not to share
nice
i love the vid :)
about your offensive struggles, you could design spacemarines (add a heavy tank unit to your 14/4's[still 40width ofc]) and count on lend lease :)
Supply is the main issue and big tanks don't really fix that :D
@@Bitt3rSteel one 40w unit with one heavy tank bulldozes trough 10 of japans infantry units and doesn't even break a sweat. it can easily replace 6+ of your own 40w infantry units in the offense ( half dmg taken double dmg caused trough too high armor, much higher breaktrough and by all that the by far lower supply need)
it'd be cool to save germany in this scenario. enemies on 360°
Oh god, so cursed that peace treaty.
50:57 nice rouge one quote
Siam in the corner: bro I’m just trying to vibe
My question is: How do you stack 92 divisions into Hong Kong? That's over a million men, where do they get the supplies for that single tile?
The answer is, they don't.
your game in 1947 runs faster than mine in 1940
The game of thrones metaphors are most splendid
weird, i pretty much always only encounter a steam rolling or steam rolled germany .. barely ever a stale mate thing
Going from Guangxi Clique to Guangxi THIQUE
Bitt3rsteel: 1947, that's 5 years past when I usually quit playing...
Me: Playing my last Guangxi game until 1963 because the Allies made 3 China Puppets and liberated a Pacific Island I needed for Battlecry.
Downside by the time I reached the US I suffered 8 million casualties, upside the Allies suffered 170 million 😈😈😈, my 24 40w Modern Tanks saved the day.
Not to worry, we’re still flying half a country

BITTTTTEEERRRRRRRRR TAKE MY KIDSSSSSSSSS ... In other news, how you been?
soooooooo busy!
@@Bitt3rSteel at least you're occupied!
very nice
That was AWESOME!!
Heck of a recovery. Good job.
Oh God !
100 divisions ah i love the idea that the AI doesn't sufferer from attrition for doing that
I and friend, when playing Egypt and Iran, just began real war with democratic Little Entete (CSR leading Germany :D )in 1948 :D
how steel became bitter
Potsdam Declaration and Yalta Agreement defined Japanese surrendering terms to return its occupied islands during WW2 to China and South Korea.
magnificent!
What do you think about putting some of the factories to lower tier guns, with lower production cost? I tried that once or twice and it might be beneficial.
This is very good to do in R56. If you have a big country like the Soviet Union, the best thing to do is research concentrated industry, have 1 line producing the basic gun with all your factories and have a second line with only a few factories that converts the guns to the latest model. The results are terrifying.
It works, but I don't usually find it to be enough of a game changer, unless it's Endsieg Germany
Hey, I know this is old and you probably won't see this, but what's your take on the garrison of ports only? I noticed that you preferred to use the fallback line function, so I just would like to know your thoughts on the port garrison order.
The AI tends to move troops around too much for my taste when using the garrison order...
@@Bitt3rSteel That's a good point, and on my most recent run I realized it also tends to counterattack provinces that are partially held by the enemy even when you're only on port. Thanks!
hey bitter ever thought about making a video about things the devs should change? maybe they will see it and have everything that bother you (us) in one clip
Not sure about war economy, but salt production in China is through the roof =D
How do you cancel a focus? I didn't know you could do that.
Hey Bitt3rSteel, consider changing the name:
hoi4 disaster save: Guanxi corridor against the Japanese tide!
40:30 Huh, why don't you add Recon to your divisions?
I always do, and it seems to be a big benefit....
(but I've never taken them off again either, so do I really know that for sure??)
It's a luxury products. This china can't afford luxury
Which DLC gives China(s warlords)focus trees?
Waking the tiger
@@Bitt3rSteel Guess I wake the tiger then
Strength
Why would you attack with your full 24 stack when risking it on hong kong? Only 2 can fight at a time and you can see most of your stack in reserve doing nothing not regaining org. Why not cycle attack micro properly if you were going to attempt this?
you play HoI4 for this long and see if you still have the brainpower for full on micro :p
@@Bitt3rSteel lazy man move would to have pressed select half hotkey so you wouldn't have been vulnerable to counter attack. I did org wall micro for around 5 hours straight on an 10 hour kaiserreich live stream for 2 sicilies once.
Soviet Union: puppet Manchuko
Also Soviet Union: doesn't reclain South Sakhalin XD
21:10 你知道有,可以合成部隊,的按鈕啊
The Google drive link doesn't work. Good video though
I had a similar situation with communist China, allies are completely useless and lost D-Day, around the time i could field enough divisions to push and upgraded infrastructure enough i was 25k in the hole for inf equip and my poor pc couldn’t keep up in 1946 making it impossible to micro anything
Wait what? Why is Hong Kong red? Some old puppet that isn't technically wiped out?
It flipped back to the UK because he was in the allies
Ctrl B to railroad the troops.
Hello, do you save kaiserreich disaster saves?
Mayhaps. If it's a good one for a KR version Incan actually find
Maybe Hoi4 1939 challange as Poland without exploits?
40:12
Me every time i play china
Restore Ryukyu Kingdom as an independent country free from Japan's occupation!
Also, instead of stacking 300 divisions in Yugoslavia, why doesn't the allied AI, you know, send some over to Asia? That's something Paradox needs to fix...
Because it's a closed circle: AI feels weak in a province and sends in more troops, they drain supplies and get weakened, AI sees this weakness and... well, sends even more fresh troops. :)
@@1kvolt1978 I feel like that's to help the player against the AI. lol
Rip MA MA
What is the game called
Hearts of Iron IV
Allied peace conferences are always terrible
Lol a real disaster
you think 1947 is bad? I got to 1954

are you okay? you seem kinda upset. (lol)

Please do world conquest as communists
我還是打正版ROC,中華民國萬歲!

Japan made a collaboration government in taiwan and UK puppeted it because i couldn't find it in the peace deal
Yo, a bit late here. But about the focuses taken, i reckon he wants to complete "Legislative Yuan" for +0.25 PP. I'll comment as i watch along.
By the way, it's worth it to improve relations with Finland or Iran to get lendlease as they didn't fight any war right now.
Sweden is more worth the help since they're racking up hundreds of thousands of guns and has so much mils that they're in some games becomes a major (Norway too once they were freed). But the -0.4 daily pp instead of just -0.2 with same ideology nations isn't worth it.
Haha, nice one, Bitt3rSteel, although it would be the nice cherry on top of this cake if you moved the capital to Nanjing/Beijing since you are at peace.
I love these saving disaster save games, continue them!
I agree. 😎👍
Me too!
Agreed 100%
Idea: same savegame as this, but save Germany. It'd be hilarious.
He already did a savegame as Germany where he didn't have any of actual Germany lol
Good decision to not build Jet Fighters I, those are complete garbage. Expensive garbage. Jets II are true power, but I's... No. Just no.
Also doing one (two for two fronts) massive fallback line was a poor decision. Should've just kept divisions where they were from start without any orders, so they don't need to travel across the map and loose entrenchment. May be even reorganize armies to keep everything in order. And redistribute only fat stacks of divs to cover borders more efficiently.
u g😢😢
Thanks a lot for another great video! Would you like to try the "Abschluss" Challenge? If so, playing as USSR deny Germany from getting Austria and Sudetenland, annexing them both before Germany does and winning the war with Germany before they start a war with allies. It's not hard and it's quite fun.
That's sounds like fun, wonder if it will still be possible after NSB
Kudo's on getting this one saved and turning it into a victory! Also nice to not have to grind down Germany again. Next time, can you disaster save an Axis power or the Soviets?
I have one lined up, as a favour to a friend. After that one, surem I'll see if I can find an interesting one in my mail
Play as china against max buff Japan and Win
I have 2 questions Bittersteel, do you do modded saves and where would I submit a save for you to save, unless it is already stated and if it is, whoops.
I've had to play until 1956 to get sun tzu reborn achievement
Just made tea and a Bitt3rsteel video appears! Nice!
Bittersteel has best disaster save vids
Continue these video’s they’re amazing
So i have had this game for a year and i still can’t figure it out lol im so terrible at it i lose almost every time I stumbled across your channel looking for a guide and I enjoy this series im learning from it thats for sure
