Honestly, if companies put money into these trucks throughout there life and keep maintaining them, they would probably get a lot of life of them. These trucks tend to be retired due to costly repairs only because all of the lack of maintenance has caught up to them. There are plenty of smaller companies that run old equipment that functions beautifully. I think it really just depends on goals and funding.
@cagarbagetrucks i drive for WM at their largest location in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. We either get our older trucks sent to smaller locations or they junk them way too early. I don't really a new truck but will end up having to take one soon because mine isn't far off from being taken away. I love my truck so much and I don't want to lose it 🤷♂️
Used to be blue, now they're passing out grey carts for trash to fit with SB1383. No complete rollout has been done so it remains confusing on a house-by-house basis for the moment
Couldn't agree more! Unfortunately, I am not sure how much time these truck have or if they are still around. This was filmed a few years ago before G.I. lost some of the contract area.
@@cagarbagetrucks That’s sad. Perhaps might be retired due to contract losses, which usually happens now. Trucks that served old contracts are either transferred (If they look in good condition or aren’t too old) or retired (If they get too old or other issues)
Wow, i didn't know these trucks from WM still exisisted down there! Cool!
It’s gone now it’s got scraped in October of 2023
Good morning happy Sunday morning to you and great video
Thank you! You too!
Great video well done!
Thank you very much!
Awesome video man this truck sounds amazing
To me everything about this truck is amazing. It looks so classic, and it sounds great. It’s really a piece of G.I. industries history.

Here my yard is junking trucks that aren't even years old because they don't think they are worth repairing and this jem is still running.

Yeah, remnants of the Blue Barrel Disposal days when Blue Barrel’s were trash. WM has been switching them out over time.
Great video! I’m a big fan of mini trucks, especially Amreps. Incredible how WM can still use trucks that are over 20 years old.
