Hey Gray! At about 3:45 with the work orders, there's actually a very specific reason to why mechanics use paper billing and tasking still. It's so that you won't be able to change any work without physically haven't created a new order. That helps both the shop keep order, the costumers get the correct bills and the accountants gets less work.
4:27 247 is the locomotives road number, kind of like a car’s license plate. The actual model of the locomotive appears to be an ES44AC GEVO locomotive from General Electric.
You keep amazing coming up with great games! Viewing the game mechanics, you won't need to play Car Mechanic Simulator; it works exactly the same with the tablet, the removal of parts and stuff. Keep it up man!!
This looks cool, i love mechanical stuff, always had an fascination for trains. And my late uncle worked as a train mechanic, so it will be cool to get somewhat of an idea what kinds of things he would come across.
Gray, don't sell the crappy bad parts you take off. If you keep the bad parts, when another similar train comes in for repairs of some other part (like suspension), you can repair that, then steal its good brake caliper and put the crappy one on. Then the next brake repair you'll have a cost-free part. IIRC, they have to have a minimum quality though (you can't send a non-functional train out). So keep all the parts that are orange, and sell the red ones. It's more fun to play as a dishonest repair shop and see how much cash you can rack up. :D I own Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 and 2015. I backed Playway on Kickstarter.
the numbers on trains are basically I.D. codes, locomotive are constructed in classes, lets say a company makes these locomotives that look exactly the same, so they use the numbers as basically I.D. codes. also ur vid was awesome.
Gray... I love your videos and keep doing them. When i started to subscribing to you 3 days ago I just laugh and laugh. Yor my favorite youtuber now on... Peace OUT
Gray reply and you will have my British luck! Ps - I love all your videos because you make them so funny by crashing, your my summer car series is the best personally. I hope you have a good evening! Some random British twelve year old called Sam. 👍🏻
I think they might have different trains / train numbers. As you can see on the map, we've started in the Diesel Engine Depot. Maybe they have different engine depots such as electric.
The numbers on the train are id numbers for each railways engines it's like their call sign its just to identify the specific train because Alot of them are very similar and some companies have a lot of the same trains
I have a suggestion: Make it when you buy a car from the newspaper that you have a 75% of getting the car and a 25% of someone else already bought it. Make it so when you sell parts It takes awhile to get the cash. Maybe make a auto parts store that you have to go to buy or pick up your car parts and have the player wait like 1-2 mins for the car they just bought to be in there garage.
My uncle was a caboose operator on trains and I used to listen on his radio identifying where trains number 154 needed at track 3, train's 248 and 465 to the repair station etc..
Don't know if somebody already answered this, but the numbers on the train(or in this case it's referred to as a locomotive or engine) designate which engine it is. It's kinda the same thing as a license plate on the car. And each type of locomotive can get a different set of numbers depending on the company that own them. One type could have the numbers between 700 and 799 and one can have numbers between 800 and 899, etc.
In car mech sim i keep repairable parts until the repair skill is maxed out then repair with the full 90% chance... but u can actually buy and sell the cars so i'm assuming trains aren't the same way. You really should get Car Mech Sim, Gray
I’m a train fanatic, I don’t know what the numbers mean, I do however know they can mean different things. Numbers mean different things for different train companies. From companies, the numbers are sorted into groups depending on how the company wants to do so.
The train numbers are the engine numbers, so you could have multiple of that time and color, so they have 247 of that type or something. the type of train is the Iconic D - 19
The numbers on the number board on top of the cab of the loco is what the railroad classifies the locomotive. Example: Loco #364 is departing on track 2. Understand now Gray?
If said before I apologize. The numbers are for tracking different trains. Like airplane numbers for air traffic control. Train stations use numbers for tracking and different uses. See taking of pelem.123? Densel and Travolta.
The drivers cab is realistic for that type of train, a passenger train is a bit different, actually pretty basic really. Driving the actual train is simple, the hard bit is knowing all of the technical stuff and how to read signals and such.

Finally a good well produced mechanical train game, this is too great!
Such an obscure name for a game...obscure, but accurate.
The number is called a road number. It's assigned to a locomotive for each road name. Like the first train you repaired was BNSF loco number 267
Gray, the numbers are the DESIGNATION!
" Hydraulic brake hoses" 😂 they're air lol. I guess at least they tried when making the game haha
"train number 247, I hope thats a good one" bruh the locomotive is either a Tier-3 gevo or dash-8
You know what hydraulics means right?
@@legotrainfan Hydraulic brakes are powered by fluid. Pneumatic breaks are powered by air.
Just so ya know

This game looks really interesting!
Me and my cat are loving Train mechanics sim. WE WANT MORRRRRRRE!
This is actually pretty dope
This is going to be fun, Gray is going to run into fixing a train that he thought it would be a great idea to completely take apart lol
This game is cool, cant wait when you try to rip the engine apart
I want to see more of this gray!
The numbers on the side and the cab are the road numbers. They are the numbers that tell a certain locomotive from another.
Gray Still Trains!
omg, that pun was so steamy
PLEASE, PLEASE. Play this game a whole fking lot!!
This is so fun to watch you playing these!
YES MORE TRAIN MECHANIC SIMULATOR
You keep amazing coming up with great games!
Viewing the game mechanics, you won't need to play Car Mechanic Simulator; it works exactly the same with the tablet, the removal of parts and stuff.
Keep it up man!!
hey Gray, love the video. more videos of this game would be awesome! especially to see how the developers make any changes
That was awesome
I’m not a train driver, but that’s pretty realistic right there GrY

FINALLY! A game to work on trains!
This looks cool, i love mechanical stuff, always had an fascination for trains. And my late uncle worked as a train mechanic, so it will be cool to get somewhat of an idea what kinds of things he would come across.
They should make Plane Mechanic Simulator. That'd be so bloody cool
The part that say "247" are the numberboards. They normally have the locomotive's roster (cab/road) number.
Gray, don't sell the crappy bad parts you take off. I'm very interested in the steam engines. I Wonder if there will be famous engines like the Mallard, City of Truro, and maybe even the Rocket.
there is one like the a4 but 8 drive wheels instead of 6
Wow, this is exactly like car mechanic simulator. It must be made by the same company
When you take the screws off, say SCREW YOU :P
Gray reply and you will have my British luck!
Ps - I love all your videos because you make them so funny by crashing, your my summer car series is the best personally.

Gray can you do all first person mode in the next video?
wow, that game looks awesome, did they say anything about the relese price?
9:51 the no. refers to the train itself not the model, like that's train no. 247
this is like my summer car
Hey Gray, trains are effin expensive.
I have a suggestion: Make it when you buy a car from the newspaper that you have a 75% of getting the car and a 25% of someone else already bought it. gray the numbers mean what locomotive or train you are talking to

I’m a train fanatic, I don’t know what the numbers mean, I do however know they can mean different things. Numbers mean different things for different train companies. From companies, the numbers are sorted into groups depending on how the company wants to do so.
amagad I need this
The 247 is supposed to imitate GE (General Electric)’s wide cab units, possibly the best, most reliable, and most popular locomotives.
The train numbers are the engine numbers, so you could have multiple of that time and color, so they have 247 of that type or something. the type of train is the Iconic D - 19
i like trains

The drivers cab is realistic for that type of train, a passenger train is a bit different, actually pretty basic really. Driving the actual train is simple, the hard bit is knowing all of the technical stuff and how to read signals and such.
Trains can tow in either direction.
