    Please pray for son who has been taken over by evil forces of the new age thinking ... please help me pray for him to return to his authentic self and to his Baptized Catholic Faith ... I chose the name Monica as my confirmation name a few years ago because I had never been confirmed and to pray to St Monica for my my son Stephen As St Monica prayed for her son, St Augustine. It hurts my heart what he has done to himself. Thank you 🙏

      Do not worry, with prayers filled with tears as Saint Monica prayed, I will add your son Stephen in my prayer and with the grace and will of God, Saint Monica , Saint Augustine and our beloved Mother Mary's intercession, I keep faith that your son will return in God's path.
      Let HIS will be done to your son.
      In the name of Jesus I will pray.

    PS: 06:07 "... objectively superior state of celibacy..." ...
    《 Once, while he was praying, Saint Macarius heard a voice: “Macarius, you have not yet attained such perfection in virtue as two women who live in the city.” The humble ascetic went to the city, found the house where the women lived, and knocked. The women received him with joy, and he said, “I have come from the desert seeking you in order to learn of your good deeds. Tell me about them, and conceal nothing.”
    The women answered with surprise, “We live with our husbands, and we have not such virtues.” But the saint continued to insist, and the women then told him, “We married two brothers. After living together in one house for fifteen years, we have not uttered a single malicious nor shameful word, and we never quarrel among ourselves. We asked our husbands to allow us to enter a women’s monastery, but they would not agree. We vowed not to utter a single worldly word until our death.”
    Saint Macarius glorified God and said, “In truth, the Lord seeks neither virgins nor married women, and neither monks nor laymen, but values a person’s free intent, accepting it as the deed itself. He grants to everyone’s free will the grace of the Holy Spirit, which operates in an individual and directs the life of all who yearn to be saved.” 》

      Regarding the "... objectively superior state of celibacy...", in the sense of "undestracted" service to God, it is objectively superior. Macarius notes that it is not necessarily a superior calling in the sense that following God's will is the primary satisfaction of our lives. There is where personal holiness revolves. And, there is obviously no limit on that, as he learned.
      Butler's commentary is interesting: "God revealed to St. Macarius, that he had not attained the perfection of two married women, who lived in a certain town: he made them a visit, and learned the means by which they sanctified themselves. They were extremely careful never to speak any idle or rash words; they lived in the constant practice of humility, patience, meekness, charity, resignation, mortification of their own will, and conformity to the humours of their husbands and others, where the divine law did not interpose: in a spirit of recollection they sanctified all their actions by ardent ejaculations, by which they strove to praise God, and most fervently to consecrate to the divine glory all the powers of their soul and body."

    Supernatural humility begins when the only spirit of the Truth help us realize that only God can save us, and the necessary graces made available through His church are given only if we are willing to bind with His covenant, viz Holy. All other reasonings are the works of one or more of the spirits of the lies for not letting us escape from their clutches (and from their permanent residence).

      Question does this include glutony?

    • @MissPopuri
      @MissPopuri 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t see how supernatural humility wouldn’t include gluttony. Pride has been equated the chief of the deadly sins because it is tied quite literally to our own will. Having an inordinate desire for food or flesh doesn’t act on its own, we have to have a ringleader. I can relate to a lot of Augustine’s story, but I am a woman so I won’t necessarily say I am called to contemplative life. I find that I really like writing and reading though, but I can’t stand political commentaries in newspapers. I really don’t want to do it, Lord willing.

    • @mathewjoseph5987
      @mathewjoseph5987 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cherylbogdan5044 My current view is that once devils see a weakness in food, he take control of it and so gluttony may be considered as a “possession“ and can have deliverance with prayers (and fasting!) or by other means.

    What are the differences between the Septuagint translation of the Bible and the Hebrew one?

    • @AMDG_-nk2dp
      @AMDG_-nk2dp 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hebrew is the old testament. Not too sure what the other one is

    • @MissPopuri
      @MissPopuri 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the Septuagint was in Greek. There was also a difference in numbering the Psalms. Psalm 9 in the Septuagint was split into Psalm 9 and 10 in the Hebrew version. Most Protestant denominations follow the 23rd psalm as “The Lord is my Shepherd...” while the Douey-Rheims Catholic Bible has it as the 22nd psalm because it follows the Septuagint. The 22nd psalm of Good Friday becomes the 21st. I have to look into what made the Septuagint different further because that is all I got.

    #4 looks like the priest could be in error. There is something called baptism of desire. Feenyism where one believes one has to be baptized formally in the Catholic Church is the only way to be saved is an error.

      That’s not what he says. He is including baptism of desire implicitly in that comment.
