Sure Lock by James Kellogg Jr. | Matt Test - Live Performance & Review
Matt works in Craig's office in the sales department. He loves magic and reacts REALLY well but is constantly trying to work everything out. He is also a REALLY intelligent guy! In the Matt Test, Craig shows Matt a trick and he talks about what he thinks about the routine and whether it is any good from his point of view.
This week Matt and Craig look at Sure Lock by James Kellogg Jr. This trick allows a spectator to guess 4 random numbers, put them into a padlock and their random code happens to be the correct code to unlock the padlock!!
Will Sure Lock survive The Matt Test? Find out in this video!

I really like this way of the Matt Test. Especially telling him how it works and getting his opinion on it afterwards. It is kind of of a different type of a review.

Patrick Redford has an amazing method to do this trick with an actual padlock on his penguin live. The padlocks cost around £40 so are much cheaper alternative.

I bought this lock from Magic Shop San Diego. Because I own this I can tell you that Craig is a genius. He knew exactly what he was doing when the lock did not open. I know because I own one, he built up the suspense to make it seem real.

Lmao at you two arguing over the possible combinations, you had the same conversation with David Penn reviewing Alan Wong's lock on the WPR I just watched that last week. 😂

it's 10.000 because 0000 is also valid... I like how much disbelieve and scepticism Matt shows... Great!
Looked it up: 550 USD per lock 😕

And the fact that it didn't work at 7:42 and he had to check it at 8:04 shows it's definitely not worth that price tag

@@AntonioGee obviously hard to believe listening to the person that made the prop, but I can tell you it wasn’t the prop. Sure Lock has 2 functions to unlock the lock, he was just pushing the wrong one for this routine he was doing. I know because I have done it a few times myself 😂 but good on him for quickly recovering. True performer right there!

This seems great, but I can’t justify getting this at the price. I already have deadlock and I love it. I’m sure this has more options than deadlock, but I’m not sure if the effect this has on the audience is radically different. Both involve solving the lock in a way that feels impossible.

    Couldn’t it be 0000. So 10,000 combinations.
Okay, he just said that as typing.

And by the way, as a hobbyist I would always spend 200 bucks on a trick, as long as I assume performing it regularly.
