    I just spent one hour trying to find this, without remember what what it was called, what it sounded like, or what series the song was from. Not sure how I managed to find it again with nothing to go on.

    You do know that Chipmunking a song is only denoted by increasing the pitch of the song until it's sound could only be created by a Chipmunk, yes?
    Nightcore changes pitch, speed, and tempo to create something that sounds distinctly different while still keeping a similar sound to the original track.

    It's not every day I have someone tell me I should be ashamed of myself for placing a song under the Nightcore genre. Oh wait, yes it is and it's a comment that comes from people who have no idea what they're talking about. Oh look, today it's you.
    You should be ashamed of yourself for telling me I should be ashamed of myself when you know nothing of Nightcore culture. Good day.

    For some reason, this song reminds me Shingeki no Kyojin. I'm not a big fan of Shingeki no Kyojin, it just sounded like it :D

    Nightcore + More Nightcore = This. (That's the math)

  • @kittenkcatk22
    @kittenkcatk22  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Only it's not the chipmunks, anyone who isn't deaf can tell the difference between the squeaky chipmunk voices and people who nightcore correctly.

  • @Kreepie11
    @Kreepie11 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love the original. This.... this reminds me of Alvin and the Chipmunks. In a very painful way.

  • @sejsel

    That's what is happening, sadly. However, you cannot put all artists in one group. Take for instance Forkkie with these songs, which are definitely good or Maikel6311. That is not just changing speed. That is art.

  • @killfae
    @killfae 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    you mean drop a song into audacity, hit the 'change speed' button and make it sound as high as possible in 12 seconds? I'm not kidding, most Nightcore covers have literally NO thought put into them at all, When it's actually remixed, then it's its own genre, but when it's just pitched in audacity, it's just a chipmunk cover

  • @sliceruser

    maikel reference ftw! anyway there use to be a guy, silentsuicide, he made some good ones to, i think he got banned or something tho all his vids got deleted D:!!

    or people who get annoyed that someone sped up a song like the chipmunks and then saying it's something new, it's a different genre etc.

      I know. And something deep within me REALLY wanted to like it; it just... didn't do it's job, I guess. If they'd waited until the game was finished, I bet it would have been better, but what's done is done.

    well, basically, that's what 'most' nightcore is.

  • @whyteleaf
    @whyteleaf 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Only you would know that?

  • @SpootyBiscuit
    @SpootyBiscuit 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'll say it again: While I dislike nightcore personally, I'm not going to judge anyone for liking it. Calling it art, though, is a slap in the face to real musical artists, producers, and remixers everywhere.
    Artists take years of musical training and experience and weeks of hard work to produce a single track. Nightcore takes an hour of time in audacity playing with pitch and tempo sliders with absolutely no musical background necessary. They are not even remotely on the same level.

  • @kittenkcatk22
    @kittenkcatk22  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    But.. that's pretty much what Nightcore is.
    So I mean, if that rustles your jimmies... you might need to see a doctor about that.

  • @hasankarakus6456

    Some pitch can be worse... but its fair....

  • @mattiswan1

    nah katayuko no tori just just doesn't work in nightcore actually after 0:51 its better, but I prefer the original

  • @KidMangaX
    @KidMangaX 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Frankly, the singer's voice is much too high for it to make decent Nightcore, which pitches up the sound even more. It might have gotten away as Denpa, which even fans of the genre acknowledge can be very harsh on the ears... but there's nothing cute about this.
    "Rustled jimmies" is the new "U MAD?" in that only people whose jimmies are rustled even say the expression. So I hope you have a good day, and please accept this criticism graciously.

  • @SpootyBiscuit
    @SpootyBiscuit 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    "Let's insult the other party constantly for no good reason! That'll show them how right I am!" Seriously, chill out.
    Regarding your stance on auto-tune: Audacity has a "change pitch" button located right above the "change tempo" button, the one presumably used to make this video. Auto-tune, when you get right down to it, is just that: a pitch-changer. Changing a song's tempo, as in this video, also alters its pitch.
    Just trying to understand, why is one so much worse than the other to you?

  • @RandomAvatarFan
    @RandomAvatarFan 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's right. I lost all hearing three years ago. That is why I hate music.
    Okay, I did exagerrate the first time. It's not as squeaky as the chipmunks, but I feel the rest of my comment applies. I don't think I can get into this genre, if it truly is a different genre. It's not that I don't appreciate music as @SoWhatImHere96... even the genres I'm not interested, in I can still appreciate and I'm not actually deaf as you would have it...

  • @killfae
    @killfae 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    all nightcore is is just chipmunking a song

  • @Zithorius
    @Zithorius 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is barely sped up at all lol.. Is it really nightcore?

  • @SpootyBiscuit
    @SpootyBiscuit 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is what I despise about the nightcore community. Nightcoring entails spending 10-20 minutes in Audacity playing with pitch and tempo sliders. Being a musical artist takes countless hours of hard work to produce a single new track. They're nowhere near the same level; comparing the two is a huge slap in the face to those who produce new music.
    I'm not going to judge you if you think a song sounds better slightly sped up, but calling Nightcore "art" is obnoxiously pretentious.

  • @Dojan5
    @Dojan5 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Eugh. Distorting Shikata's beautiful song like this. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • @Dojan5
    @Dojan5 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I have no idea that all the creator of this have done is take a song, alter the frequency and tempo, and then called it "nightcore remix?"
    Yeah, no, I guess I have no clue what I'm talking about.
    There's no effort put into this, and it's like spitting in the original creator's face.

  • @Dojan5
    @Dojan5 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You have absolutely no theoretical music knowledge, why should I listen to you when I quite obviously consider myself fairly well versed in the subject?
    Do you actually know what autotune is? I sincerely doubt it.
