    Wow, free plants!!! ❤🌱🥰 Those herbs look amazing, so that was a great find. 😊 POTATOES!!! 😍😍😍 Great harvest, Laura! They were beautiful and a nice assortment of sizes. ❤ Its most definitely a HUGE WIN! Ah, this made me so happy!!! Oh, yes, Dandelions get a bad rep, but they are super beneficial from root to petals in a lot of ways. ☺️ Another lovely video! Thank you and take care! ❤

      Who can resist a free plant!! Everything will start to quiet down now as the temperatures are dropping, so I think a mass of herbs will be great to see us through the winter!
      So chuffed with the potatoes 🥔 😋 I was a but nervous to tip them out 🤭 they are a nice variety and really versatile in the kitchen which is an added bonus! Thank you so much for the continued support, I hope your feeling a bit better this week 🤗💚🌱

      Really chuffed with the potatoes! No signs of disease either 🙌 it was such a cute little festival, so pleased to share a bit with you sadly I couldn't use the audio from the clips because there was a big music stage and I didn''t want to get told off by youtube 🤭🤭 xx

      So glad I am not the only one feeling that way!! I have a few crops I am trying to do for autumn 🍂 ☺️ everything feels very over grown at the minute, the weather has gotten quite cold the last few days here lows around 8 degrees 😳 hope your doing good Stella, not long now and you'll be on your holidays!! Take care 💚🤗

    🥳🥳 free is the best and great support for area businesses. Oh wow no pots that is cool 👍👍. Excellent potato 🥔 harvest who doesn’t love fresh clean spuds. Garden looks lovely Laura and you have done a spectacular job in your tiny space. Have a super week and happy gardening, Ali 🌥️🇨🇦

      Hey Ali!! 👋It is cool isn't I wonder do they use a soil blocker or something to make them up! That is a really good point, I think I got sooooo side tracked by growing my largest potato ever, I didn't even notice they were clean, no scab or anything 💪Can't wait now to get in a rejig it all for next season 🤩🤩I already have a list of seeds to purchase! Hope you have a wonderful day Ali and I will catch up with you real soon! 💖🌱x

    Oh Laura, so thrilled about your potatoes! A little jealous. I planted one store-bought Yukon gold potato that sprouted. I was so excited. I’ve never grown potatoes before. A few days after planting it into a tub I found a hole and tunnel in the tub. A squirrel 🐿️ no doubt said my potato was ready to harvest in 2 days. Of course this spring I will be successful if I figure out how to protect my taters from 🐿️’s. The herbs you got look fab! Laura, you and Roo have a great weekend! Much love your way. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Cindy

      That was one smart squirrel 🤭🤭 he probably watched you plant it Cindy!! I wonder could you try chicken wire over the top of the container? I am so pleased 🥔💪 I really should have topped up the container sooner than I did, but not too bad considering the lack of TLC! Hopefully we will get outside this weekend to sow a few more seeds 🤗 have a lovely day Cindy and I will catch up with you very soon! 💚🌱

    Wow that harvest festival is brilliant, wish they had one near me lol
    Herb garden looks great !! I made a herb garden in a huge pot BUT at the moment we are using a lot of fresh coriander as my husband is into making currys 😂 and guess what ... I didn't plant coriander 😂 so that's on my list for next year.
    Great potato haul too, my neighbour grows in buckets / pots and tends to get good harvests too.

    • @thetinygarden_
      @thetinygarden_  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had a great time mooching around town looking at all the bits and bobs! It was a great idea and mostly funded by the local council as well.
      Hahah 🤣🤣 sorry Carl no coriander for you!! I did find that even though it wasn't that hot this summer since about June the coriander wasn't doing so well, the woodlice just kept on eating it 🤷‍♀️ so for this latest batch I have left it a bit longer before planting out 🤞🤞 hope you have lovely day Tracey and the two boys aren't running a muck on the allotment 🤭🤭💚🌱

    That's a very decent potato harvest! 👍 There a few different varieties of oregano by the way, I've had small leaved, larger leaved and fluffy leaved varieties over the years. I prefer the larger leaf variety like yours, I did not like the taste of the small leaved one, and the fluffy leaved variety always had a lot of mildew on it - not very good when it is the leaves you want to harvest. :-/ I guess you got the one that tastes and grows the best here in Ireland. (I'm in Co Cavan.) I grow my oregano in an old trailer, maybe about 4' by 6' or so, this is the 4th season it's been growing there and it has taken over 80% of it, so just be prepared that it will try to spread over time. Not so bad as mint, but I guess they are in the same family. I also have echinacea growing in that trailer, and they grow really well together, as the oregano creeps over the ground, the echinacea grown upwards. They both attract a lot of bees and butterflies. May I ask how big is your garden? It's really impressive how much food you get out of that space! 👏

    • @thetinygarden_
      @thetinygarden_  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Rev 👋 so chuffed with the spuds, a few small ones that might have gotten a bit bigger maybe if I had left them!
      Wow! I didn't know that about the types of oregano, nor did I know it was similar to mint 😲 mildew is such a problem in my garden, I am surprised the patty pan isn't covered in it yet! Echinacea is such a beautiful plant I really like the idea of combining the two!
      Of course you can ask! The main growing space with all the raised beds is just over 8 meters squared and then I have the few pots then around the side which are mostly 30 litres! Thank you for watching and sharing that insight on the oregano, I really appreciate that! 🌱😊

      That looks like an amazing event. Fab herb score. I have a slightly smaller leaf oregano called bold and spicy….it returns faithfully each year. I agree that parsley is the workhorse of all the herbs. Lemon thyme is probably my favorite herb of all.
      Your potato harvest was great. I am planning to try them in pots next year. All these years, I’ve never tried to grow them.
      Another great video.

      @robinmiller1783 I will be so thrilled if the oregano returns next year. I have two lemon thyme plants, it's absolutely gorgeous, and I love cooking with it for pot roasts but it always seems to struggle or stop producing leaves before it really gets going 🫣, I wonder is that the cycle of it or am I not doing something right 😅🍃 loved growing the potatoes in pots, it's much easier on the body when compared with digging trenches but I did find them hard to keep watered, hopefully they hold up for you next year in the Chicago heat!! Hope you have a wonderful week Robin, take care 💚🌱🤗
