Regardless of the intention in the lyrics, translating it as 'the boredom of the cumbia' is not correct. ' the cumbia of boredom' Is. By saying the boredom of the cumbia you are making it out to be that the cumbia itself is boring grammatically speaking, it doesn't give the correct image. The cumbia of boredom translates perfectly both the meaning and grammatically. It's a cumbia for boredom. It's as simple as that :)
