What's so very valuable about Western way of life including education is that it encourages "thinking outside the box" as well as a moral courage to follow what one believes is the right thing to do. John is one among many of them be it Steve Jobb, the Wrights brothers, Amilia Earhart and so on. In contrast our Thai society seem to be on the opposite pole of the spectrum; we want people to conform at any cost. Maybe this is why we are always "Looking West" and are not good at innovative ideas.
