    This gives buffs to DDs, which I think wasn’t needed. Torps should probably still get spotted, at least by cat fighters.

    This is what y’all wanted 🤷🏻‍♀️ now not only can CVs not spot for their team. Your own fighters and Spotter planes can’t either which is bs but it’s fair. Now you’re going to see just how essential spotting was because This is essentially yet another buff for DDs and a nerf for everything else. Good job guys 👍🏼

      They can still soft spot and with mic call out dangerous dd. I’m happy now in my cv I can do some damage and contribute to win, instead of spotting and no one shooting at what I spot.

      ​@@jesusrjr7775who is using a open mic and who is listening I gave up on call outs after 3 games because no one is listening and if people are using a open mic it's 1 of 3 things a kid screaming, some idiot play crap rap music or some guy that tells you you're bad because you scored 10 points lower than him

    If WG really wanted CV's to move up, they'd have a more historic pre-steam catapult mechanic where CV's have to be moving a certain speed to launch planes. We'll see how these changes go though.

      There should be a harsh scoring penalty for CVs being more than 20 km from the nearest enemy ships most of the match and a significant scoring bonus for CVs using secondary and anti-aircraft guns.

    You have to realize that the carriers on average fly 20-25 km to get to their target. Then their loop for the second strike is 5-8 kilometers so no you can't just fly everywhere like you said. Your gonna be hard pressed to even get a second strike off if you dont move up

      all of the less-skilled cv players who just back into the corner of the map is gonna have a hard time. but yea, knowing where to put your cv as close to the red ship without putting yourself in harms way is something every cv player should have some hum of how to do, atleast in t5 and up

      @@ColaFr34k I have almost every carrier in the game and from my matches played I can say with full confidence new t5 carrier players don’t know how to do that a lot of carrier guys don’t start doing that until t7 and some Lt guys still do it. It’s ridiculous

      Skill ceiling was definitely raised. That fuel guage is definitely going to rush drops. And AA ships just became a LOT more impactful. Going around them now costs fuel.

      I always park my carrier behind the closest island. Then move up when needed or move away

    There will be probably be a fuel gauge and they can fly a max 33km so if they are flying in a circle it will consume fuel. I think these changes have definitely nerfed CVs and I'm kinda disappointed

    The spotting changes sound like an unintentional buff for Friesland, not gonna lie. Only the CV player will see them, but once they do, their planes are basically dead anyway.
    Overall though, as someone who plays mainly cruisers and DDs, I will definitely appreciate not getting spotted by the whole enemy team. It's gonna make maneuvering a whole lot easier without that fear of being focused once the CV spots you.

    again,i like the fuel concept as it leans to what i've been doing with carriers,since they should be support type ships but carriers arent close enough to provide AA for their team(Border Huggers)

    It’s also a shadow buff to all DDs and a shadow nerf to all BBs. Harder to de-plane a carrier, so AA actually matters even less at this point. The spotting nerf gives us one less way to get DDs spotted. And the damage buffs give CV potato’s one more reason to go after BBs

    I believe the range is how far the planes can fly doesn't matter direction, IE the saipan bombers with 33km range the planes can fly in a 1km circle 33 times and done, I don't think its unlimited time inside 33km just a max travel distance, so they can't loiter forever

    Coming from a carrier player perspective, I feel like the cvs were in a good spot, yeah they were annoying to fight but they felt somewhat balanced, but the rework is fine, its just that people who play poorly or get focused by one make cvs seem more “broken”

      Taking 1st bar of pobeda with spotting from air 2-3 km nerfed big time 7 bombs hit in training rooms 1-2 damage over 300 planes 15 fires their stats are wacked plus they were stationery absolute BS wows

    If they want carry is to get closer to a fight something that carriers usually don't do in real life They should give a range buff DPS buff to the carriers secondary armaments and a sporting buff to see DDs that for some reason your entire team has let past them and now they're just stalking the carrier and the carrier is completely unable to attack a DD with anything

    I'm wondering if the 30 km range means that's how far they can fly before they have to come back regardless of the position of the ship so say hypothetically they want to circle their ship with their planes they can do so but only fly 30 km worth of flight time I'm not exactly sure but I'm hoping that's the case

    Maybe they will update the fuel later on, it should be like 20km which is plenty for them to go after anyone but not enough for them to traverse the map looking for specific targets.

    @6:10, I noticed they said Airstrike Planes.” Do they mean blue team CV planes can’t spot enemy CV planes? Or are they adding the Airstrke consumable like PC?
    I haven’t read the proper patch notes yet. Maybe they mentioned that

      The Dutch cruisers are coming starting with the premium D 7 Provencien so airstrikes are coming

    Honestly, as a battleship/carrier player I think this is a fairly decent rework. I do actually like the fuel mechanic, although not being able to spot torpedoes anymore is going to make destroyers more annoying for everyone. Not to mention that spotting in general is a big part of CV gameplay. I'm interested to play and fight the new carriers when the update comes out, so we'll see what happens. Honestly, with the new mechanics, I wonder if there will ever be CV commanders that will provide increase to flight time.
    P.S. The way the fuel range mechanic works is not the same as a ships gun range. It's not a circle around the ship they can fly, it's based on how long it takes them to fly that range, so whether you fly straight out for say 30km or fly in a circle and go that same amount of distance, you will run out of fuel and your squadron will return to the carrier in the same amount of time.

      It changes the role of a CV completely. No longer a supporting role to help spot and guide your team, it's now an 'attack the first thing I see before fuel runs out' scenario. Which will almost always be a BB. The team will have to fend for themselves when it comes to destroyers unless we get lucky on a run or another ship spots them first. There was an art to managing your planes and sweeping the caps to get a view of the battle space for your team. I hope they removed 'I NEED INTELLIGENCE DATA' from the quick commands.

    Missouri dont need no catapult plane. This is goin to be fun, the game just completely changed imo. Carriers have been unbalanced for far too long. This was was much needed imo.

    I hate this update! this update basically renders spotter planes useless. -- they no longer can spot ships, can't spot torpedoes, can't spot enemy aircraft, so what are they for now? This just goes to show how much the ministry of balance hates BB players. the nerfs to carriers absolutely are of zero value to BB's and this update just makes carriers deadlier to BBs.

    Still a bit fuzzy on which plane spots what with the non-carrier planes.
    33 kilometers sounds like a lot until you start doing the geometry. Plane turns cover a LOT of distance. Carriers will need spotting at long ranges so they don't waste fuel searching. Avoiding AA ships burns fuel. That fuel guage will rush drops. Especially second and third drops. Is it a huge nerf? No. Does it complicate carriers and raise the skill ceiling? Yes. We will see how it plays out.
    I like how the ship called the 'fires of perdition' got an HE and fire chance buff. 😆
    Oh, and good job on Celestine. Nailed it the third try. 40k names, man. 😖

      CV planes only spot for the CV. Consumables don't spot at all, just on the mini map like the CV planes for the test of the team.

    No they are not meaning you have unlimited flight time Bubble. It’s a count down timer. Whether you fly straight to something other than fly in circles they are up for the same time limit.

    I think overall the CV changes are good. They're making CV players become more protective and involved. They don't have to be scared of running out of planes so you'll be more helpful by spotting more or dealing damage against targets you'd normally shy away from. And with a fuel limit CV players will now have to think on their feet a bit more, deciding which target to go for and quickly otherwise risk running out of fuel and only getting a single strike off, if you hadn't already ran out of fuel already. I do have some concerns, mainly the consumable aircraft not spotting at all and torpedoes not spotted. But luckily this update will be a test phase so I'll be sure to leave feedback

      the reason is to kill them, as it is for any other ship. Not to cancel out their class trait for the entire match w/o effort or skill or risk. It's a good change.

    Heavy AA destroyers and cruisers are the one and only winners here
    If you calculate the nerf on per bomb damage and multiple the nerf with two, the damage is now actually higher
    Carriers are now limited to spot or actually completely terminated as a big support ship
    Since the limited range of planes with the upcoming update, bb's will be the main target of carriers, there is simply no alternative with this complete mechanic change
    AA actually doesn't matter for a carrier player anymore, since the plane restoration per minute has been increased, and most importantly, the speed of the planes are increased, this means more DPM
    The big winners under the carriers are Saipan, Kaga and Ark Royal, since their accuracy has been improved, new damage record will be set
    The big loser is Parseval, with a decrease of bomb multiplier, this means no citadel to ships like Jean Beart, Massachusetts and similar armor tyoed ships

      It's going to take some getting used to. I'm a little disappointed they didn't buff Graf Zeppelin's secondary armament. They are reducing the recovery time for aircraft, but they are reducing health of aircraft and adding a limiter in the form of the fuel limit.
      This will force carriers to no longer camp at the edge of the map. (Not that I ever did it, I preferred to get close and support my team.)

    I think with this new update bad for players who don't move there ships. I think if you start moving your ships around you'll be ok.
    And that would just ruin the game.
    All of the real sea battles I seen the ships don't stop. A sitting still ship is a dead ship. Unless you are firing the big guns so the guys can land on the beach.

    Carrier players barely spot ships for you and with these changes carrier players have zero incentive to spot ships.
    Destroyers even more deadly now that carriers can't spot torps.

    So we'll see an influx of Lexington's, Kagas, and Midways. Lets give these insane restoration times with bigger squadron size with more bombs and not buff AA in some way to compensate for the squadron size meanwhile AA can't be replaced. Some of these changes were needed like spotting changes, planes needing fuel, ect, but planes dont need bigger squadrons, more bombs, nor insane restoration times. Imagine having your AA farmed by HE spam and a Kaga continues to throw planes at you without being punished bc it cant be deplaned....In true Flamu fashion. "How fun is that?!"

    Too many changes at once and they should have been implemented in increments. I agree with the spotting and fuel but not the damage nerf. If you can't aim bombs or skip bombs don't play or practice in training rooms to get better. I'm a little heated.

    As a CV and DD player this is a huge buff for dd's. These changes gives cv players zero incentive to go after dd's. Can't spot torps is huge. Extra bombs with reduced damage will be useless even if you do score a hit on a dd. CV players are better off going after bigger targets to land more bombs for bigger damage.
    As a dd player this will give free reign on sinking cv's.

      And that is EXACTLY what I think too. With AA, 'flying your planes forever', isn't a reality unless you are way out of the battle area doing nothing for your team. My job was to sweep and search for the destroyers at the start since I roughly knew where they would be heading on any given map at the start. I won't be looking for them now but instead going after the first ship I see, usually a BB or a Cruiser. Only a fool would move a CV in close without a covering island at the start. Like throwing raw meat to a pack of wolves.

    So carriers will die in more silly ways. Graff zeppelin night actually be worthwhile for once (that's nice) British aircraft carriers kinda got sentenced into further irrelevance outside ark royal. And HAKURYŪ the legendary aircraft carrier famed for restoration time is being whacked on the head with a no longer majorly impressive feat....guess midway is now best CV for legendary tier

    Miss old carriers on pc they were amazing and so much fun to play then they changed it completely to what we have now ☹️
    For a second I hoped they were reverting back to how it was

    Interesting, should eliminate the cv sniping and reversing carriers. They should buff AA consumable to account for the increased squad sizes and make it worth running them and losing your sonar.

      they also increased plane size per squadron, i'm not the best a math but unless the hp nerf completely negates the new planes entry them the squads going forward on some ships will have a bigger hp pool in general

    As a DD main, I'm liking what I hear. Gone are the days when a CV could completely eliminate the impact of a DD by flying circles overhead and letting their team kill me. Eliminating the spotting capability of the catapult fighter seems kinda dumb, though. The catapult fighter never seemed like much of a deterrent to the CV planes- now there're even less useful.

    Carrier's shouldn't have, just about the same concealment as destroyers, planes need more fuel consumption they can still fly all over the map carriers snd destroyers are why some of us want submarines.

    That flight range means jack crap because of the fuel limit and if you go full throttle you're going to brun through your fuel faster decreasing your range

    Carriers will have limited range. Not a low range. It definitely makes sense. Now planes can’t hover infinitely to spot the point. Can’t spot the enemy team and create a shooting range. Less spotting - more actually active playing.

      Carriers literally cannot spot anymore anyways. No reason you seeing something on the map matters when you still can’t see it yourself to shoot at

    It has 30 kilo range. But they have fuel now. Start of match they fly around. They go probably 15 kilometers. Finally spot someone. But now only they can attack you. So even if they can have infinite range, the spotting change helps a lot.

    The fuel HAS to be increased or this is simply the end of carriers. Buff the fuel limit on ALL carriers by 50% and make carrier detect range cut in half. Or there is no point to playing a carrier anymore.
    If I have to be closer to the fight, but still able to be spotted and then just instantly targeted by everyone and their momma. It’s pointless. Unless the boats are in 20k of these new fuel limits you won’t have the fuel to even drop all your damage. It takes like 4k to turn around after you drop, not to mention the 2-4k it takes to line up your bombing run.

    Maybe the range limits on the planes will include the flight back to the carrier. So a 30km limit is 15 out and 15 back. If they fly past the 15 out, they run out of fuel on the way back and you loose those planes. wishfull thinking I know but maybe......

      @@conqueror3569 If I'm reading them right, the Spotter (now called the Observation aircraft) basically helps your accuracy and dispersion, it doesn't spot, it basically radios the ship and tells it how close they were to hitting the ship.
      The Catapult Fighter will only engage enemy aircraft. It will not spot or boost accuracy. It's efficacy against carrier fighters will be determined once the update drops.
      But honestly, I wouldn't hold my breath about it doing anything substantial.

    I'll say this to all the people who hate carriers you got your wish they'll be alot less of them. But what won't get a dressed is the garbage playing battleship commander who sits in he spawn all game and does nothing which I've seen many rants from spartan. Also before anybody complains about carriers I move mine forward at the right instead now being forced to do it

    I actually dislike majority of this rework.. WTF. all planes are faster and regen in squads is the ONLY benefit they got. everything else is 1000% nerf. AA at tier 6 and higher is already nonsense for some factions now you nerf plane health too. this would be unforgivable if nor for the squad regen buff now. and nerfing the skip bombers requiring a 1 skip arm is nonsense. dispersion works on those too so now goodluck ever hitting a destroyer again in them. cant even spot properly now too so thats bad for everyone. only good thing everyone else gets is more xp cuz more planes in the air and they have less health. wonderful

      Completely agree with you, and one of my major issues with this is, why the hell would they remove the aircrafts ability to spot torpedoes, there have been plenty accounts of pilots spotting torpedo wakes in the water, so why the hell would they remove that ability

    So the cv's are getting nerf..the new spoting for cv's is stupid..and whats with this fuel rubbish..the planes are bad enough..like they are made of paper..

    I actually like some of new carrier mechanics. I’ve long felt the skip bombs were a cheat and showed just how underwhelming bombs from other carrier classes were. Now they are still powerful, but require planning and skill for use, but the buff for dive bombs was a much needed change. I won’t go into a tl:dr post about the draw backs of the changes to spotting planes.

    Oh yeah? I can’t bomb with bombs because they need to skip? Well where’s my minimum arming distance for fkkkkin ship torpedos huh? Some of these changes are unnecessary and that one is just people crying they don’t get to abuse their stupid turn time as much

    Now Destroyers can actually be effective again. Planes spotting torps is one major reason destroyers were playing like idiots.

    This is more dumbing down the game yet again for the benefit of kids sitting in highchairs playing the game on their parent's tablet. The only good addition is the fuel limit. They're ruining the game!
