The coiled air and electrical lines that connect a tractor unit to a trailer are called "Suzies" because of the "Suzie" Slinky toys. The term is a copyright of Unipart and is now commonly used in the industry
A "Suzie" refer to the coiled pneumatic and electrical lines between the tractor unit and trailer. This Unipart copyright term originates back to the "Suzie" Slinky toys and is today in common use throughout the industry
With regard that trailer you have seen in the layby,it is almost certain it has been dumped, there will be no plate details on it,possible the floor may have been taken off and as you see a wheel and tyre has gone maybe because there was a half decent tyre on that wheel.
Great video mate, Had a thought now you have that power box, You could get a Dolce Gusto coffee pod machine, it's on offer on Amazon for £54, I paid £100.. but it's fantastic mate, Can make Starbucks coffee, Including the Toffee ones, Vanilla ones plus Costa Coffee, Hot chocolates, Mint + green tea.. + Most of them have milk contained in the pod. and all clean contained inside, Pods are like £3.75-£4.50 for 12-30 depending on which one, I think it would be perfect for the truck! I love the Starbucks cafe latte ones, Milk + coffee in 1 pod can get them all from Asda, Tesco or Amazon ect.. Oh wow i had to google why Suzies are called Suzies, Apparently it's named after the suzie slinky toy which you could drop the spring down the stairs and it would follow itself hahahaah Hope you have a great weekend mate, Look after yourself, Take care mate.. That machine is limited time offer at £54 (if you get one, make sure it's the 0.8L tank version for bigger coffes) .. Save a fortune from buying their actual coffees in services
@ Honestly it’s brill mate, I got one for at work but brought it home with me tonight so I can have it at home instead. The XL pour option is a perfect full standard mug I reckon 2 pods would do a bigger flask, it pours really hot, fast too
Googled your question about suzies and there are a number of ‘explanations ‘ about how the name originated, including being named after the “Suzie” slinky toy. Not sure about that 🤣Great video, mate. Cheers.
another busy day. I think the camera made the fog look less dense then it actually was. I sailed up around the Clyde and I couldn't see the bow of our ship. I wonder when they will fit those infer red (think) screen on lorry windows for this sort of weather as standard. bit of a gimmick but would be helpful.
Excellent top tips there at 9:05 and 28:33 regarding the Suzie's. Why are they named that? Well from what I understand it used to be SUSIE at first which makes the Suspended Insulated Electrical connection the most plausible, just don't ask Google! Passed that trailer full of old tyres on A50 this afternoon, it's been there about two months I reckon and it's not the first either, one was dumped on opposite side last year. It costs around £10-£12 to recycle each tyre and that one is packed full so simply dumping them has saved someone a lot of money. Disgusting thing to do though. Have a great weekend.
Talking about farming and combine harvesters have been watching bits of fletcher family farm when it's been on and found it rather interesting, thinking of watching it from the beginning on itv player at some point
Now that is a good bit of reversing nice one Darren.

The camera definitely made it less dense as you couldn’t see a thing, that must be pretty scary if you can’t see the end of your boat! 🫣
I did worry that you were leaving the Susie lines loose when you unplugged them!
Some very impressive manoeuvring - how you judge it with something that size is beyond me - I'd have wiped out the truck and the building......
🤣

Where did the name SUSIE come from? It stands for SUSpended Insulated Electrical.
