One of the most underappreciated artists and poets to grace our generation. Even if he never releases a new project, his music will always stick with me and remind me of all the lessons on history and life in general that I learned along the way. Was so wonderful to hear him after so long, felt like reuniting with an old friend. Bless you Knaan Warasame, you legend!!

I got my youtube account after hearing K’Naan for the first time. He’s the same age as my son, but I introduced my son to K’Naan, and then after that it was my son who took me to K’Naan’s concert in Stanley Park BC back in the day when I was still a younger old woman. Now I’m almost 70, waking up suddenly in the wee hours remembering about K’Naan, because of my son, who reminded me earlier in the day of today that we didn’t always know what we now know as the truth about the lies we’ve been told. We realize now because when you hear it, you feel it, the way K’Naan stayed true. How could he not after all he went through. In Somalia. And everywhere where the west still goes around lying about what it’s doing including in the west, where we’ve been lied to for so long that we turned into liars too.
But not K’Naan. He stayed true. He can’t be fooled by deceivers.
