    In this video I'll unbox all 25 pcs for this suite and get them all set up and ready to use. Enjoy!

    Reminds me of my life every summer. I work IT for schools and setting up new computers is an annual affair during the summer.

    Hi, i just want to tell you that you guys made some great work and i like how you guys nicely deployed all those machines so fast. I m a sys admin as well and i m curious how do you guys manage the windows updates software updates and the antivirus updates on each computer. I do not have the possibility to use windows server, but still curious about neat possibilities .
    Great video, have a nice day
    Steve

    I seen dell precision 3460s being replaced on San Ramon library in contra costa system and they just replace the pc and not the keyboard and have windows 10 not 11 installed

    Yet again another great video Jake, keep it up :) And at my school, the computers you replaced and said are old would be considered to be good machines. The IT facilities and IT Technician at my school is just a complete joke... 😞 I don't know how your school can do it and my school can't. Keep it up mate 👍

      Schools pay shite for IT, that's why. IT is a somewhat lucrative field...usually. Low pay = low quality work.

    Another great video Jake! I'm just curious how long would it take to update the entire school network to windows 10? Assuming that all the backend software was ready for Windows 10 or would you put it off for a few years?

    • @JakeBilling
      @JakeBilling  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In theory as soon as the windows 10 group policy templates are imported, I could deploy windows 10 in a few weeks to around 1000 machines

      +Jake Billing I hope by than you made your images zero-touch :), btw you can make MDT auto-apply the recommended resolution by putting this in your customsettings.ini:
      [Default]
      BitsPerPel=32
      VRefresh=60
      XResolution=1
      YResolution=1

    Why did the reimage them with Windows 7 Again they came with Windows 7 did they need to reimage them to WIndows 7 Enterprise?

    • @lre23
      @lre23 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      they set up one computer and created an image to push to them all - it saves them installing every update and application on every computer, they just had to do it on one

      They Image they created has all the programs an software they need. It saves them time installing on computers one by one.

    I take it SSD was out the budget?
    Very impressive, what you can do with your management tools, especially the scripting part. If you've got the budget I'd recommend a Fluke LinkRunner for doing cable tests on broken ports, they'll tell you which pairs and how far down the cable itself.

    Awesome Video Jake. I loved using Impero CM at my Secondary School when I did work experience with the IT Technicians. I found it awesome how I could control all the Computers from my laptop and they would all do the same thing at the same time, I just found it rather amusing.
    Great video!

    Would not recommend these machines because these are not like RM computers where the back panels are protected and they are more secure than those dells and the screens are protected.And are not 100 percent reliable.

    How to profit: Add a bitcoin miner to the image and run them at like 10% max GPU or CPU mining power, and at around 80% when the computers are unused. 10/10

    8:15 how did you manage to solve that error? I have started experimenting with WDS and WDT and every time I create and capture the image, I get that issue all the time when deploying the image.

    Another awesome deployment, but two questions: Why not Windows 8.1 (or even Win10 since there are GPO templates already available)? And why not skipped all that language selection etc (using the MDT you can configure the lite-touch deployment)?

    • @Time4Technology
      @Time4Technology 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Neve Well Win8.1 with e.g. Classic Start menu isn't that different.. And the people have to move on imagine a company still using Windows 95 because there "used to it"? :D

    • @Time4Technology
      @Time4Technology 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Neve
      Oh well that's a good point I completely missed that.. In my case all the software is compatible to Windows 8, even older Windows XP applications work flawlessly..
      But I'm sure there are quite a few programs not compatible after Win7

    • @gangnamgranny2682
      @gangnamgranny2682 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Georg Pf I dont think classic shell would work properly in the business/education environment due to the start menu policies and redirection.

    • @Time4Technology
      @Time4Technology 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      GangnamGranny Classic Shell has got nice deployment capabilities, you can easily add it to a task sequence and block annoying pop-ups with command line switches.

    • @gangnamgranny2682
      @gangnamgranny2682 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Georg Pf HMM I will have to experiment with that at some point. Never really used Windows 8 on the network. Migrating to 10 soon which so far has been working fine :)
