The matrix 4 is a reboot of neos past lifetime. When he died in the third movie his body was carried by the machines. There is a scene in the trailer where he's being probed and resurrected by the machines. There are scenes in this trailer where he is looking at his previous life time.
Jonathan Groff is very interesting choice for a new version of Agent Smith

@@harrismiller1948 maybe even a couple times. It’s clearly the matrix, but some later version. Given how old Jada Pinkett looked, it could be reboot version 10, 11, 12….
I dig it. I even suspected he was agent smith from the first teaser trailer.
He looks like a great choice. Wish they brought back Fishburne but the new actor looks like the best possible replacement.

I have to go back and watch the first 3 movies. Besides the action scenes that’s been shown for years , I honestly have no idea what this franchise is about lol. 20 years from the start of it is a long time ago. Hopefully HBO max gives us recap option instead of watching all 3 movies just in case
I'm not really that into The Matrix but this trailer made me super interested.
At the core of the movies it’s about love, choice, the need for liberty and sacrifice to break free from control. You can take so much from these movies. Reloaded and Revolutions kind of just throws the philosophy on you but after some rewatches it’s genius.
