- I go through each day of my recent trip to the Villages Florida. Hopefully I will be doing less and less of these short trips and make it my full time residence. Look forward to joining all my new friends in the Villages.

Thanks for sharing Gary ❤😊
Great video Gary. Filled with great information. Suzanne Premo is wonderful. Congratulations with your upcoming retirement.
Thanks so much!
Enjoyed the video, it’s helpful to get a perspective on the distance between areas. We did a lifestyle visit 2 years ago and it was great. We are both already retired but I think we are in the analyst paralysis stage. So difficult to make a move after over 30 years in this home. Looked like you had fun! Thanks for all the great info.
We felt the same way but at some point we just took a look at our lives and we realized we just sit inside for months due to in climate weather and nothing to do. That’s when we drove down and brought a home!
I was kind of in that stage a few years ago not knowing what to do and thought my longtime home I couldn’t leave. All I could say is my wife pushed me to sell and I’m glad we did looking back on it.
I'd like to see a drive around the Middleton neighborhood. Thanks for the videos.
I have done a drive around Middleton just need to put it together. Middleton is a lot different than the Villages.
Congratulations on your retirement!
Thank you!
My wife and I live in Martin County FL so we are curious about your community. Really enjoyed the no-hype honest conversation about housing market and lifestyle. Nice production.
I appreciate that!
Love your sense of humor and attention to detail … great video Gary - always appreciate the time you spend working on them.
I try
Hi Gary , Fun video to watch and see someone's day to day activity. Good luck in your retirement. Off topic question ... can you ride an E bike in the golf cart lanes on roads and on the paths ? Is there somewhere else to safely ride them if this is frowned upon ?
You can ride a bike either e-bike or regular bike on the roads (with & without golf cart lanes), multimodal paths (all modes allowed golf cart, bike, walkers), and walk & bike paths. The only place you really can’t is some nature trails specifically for walkers. Or at least I wouldn’t as they are board walks for the most part.
I would love if you could drive around Moultrie Creek and Shadybrook. Thanks Gary
We just got back and we're there visiting the same time as you! I liked this "day in the life" vlog. We are pool loungers, too! We will be 55 next year, so have to wait to purchase but I'd love a video about why people move from their first house in the villages. We're not sure if we want new or pre-existing, so I'd love to learn from others!
Also I enjoy the leisurely golf cart ride videos. I put them on while doing other work as it's relaxing. Don't be too critical of your videos! Take care from Texas.
We are in the same boat. I am 56 and my husband is 58. We are looking to move this winter but not sure where to buy. Any help would be appreciated
Off topic. Where did you get the shelve desk combination in the scene behind you?
Ikea
I just asked the same question.😊
Fantastic video Gary! I’d be very interested in a video of why people move or aren’t thrilled with the village or house/model they picked.
Watching now, love your videos!
Glad you like them!
I really like the alternative camera view on the cart - yes ! I would def like to see the full length video, too. Thanks, Gary !
Coming soon! Most likely.
Look forward to seeing you around the hood. Moved into St Catherine’s on May 1. Loving it.
Congratulations. St Catherine’s is a very nice village I’m sure you will be happy there.
Gary, nice video...I'd like to see more of your videos of new areas.
I’m thinking I should put out the long ride around videos. I filmed them.
Fellow Granite Stater here. Good video. I can’t wait to get down there. I’m 50 so I have a few years to go, but it will be interesting to see what south of 44 looks like in a few years. At the moment, it’s kind of a golf desert and not much else (although Eastport should help). So tired of the long, dreary, dark and cold NH winters.
Nice video Gary!
Glad you enjoyed it
I bought in Dabney any feed back in that area?
I did a golf cart ride in Dabney while I was visiting and hope to release it soon. Just need time to put all the footage together.
Oh great! I cant wait to see it.
I am thinking about selling it and to move closer to East port. It seems like Dabney is a ways away from East port. Is that true? Any honest feed back?
Please do more on what daily life is like in the villages……those are super interesting and helpful
Great video Gary, I appreciate all you do! I can't wait to finally come down there and visit hopefully next month! I just need to convince my husband to make the move!
It’s not for everyone but it seems like 90% that visit get it instantly.
Another great video Gary, they are always very informative, and hope to run into some time, I hope to retire in September.
I’ve learned that the retiring part is a big change. Hope to see you as well.
Can’t wait to get there great video
Nice video because if I were to buy before retirement this might be my same routine. Between shuttle services and a golf cart I wouldn't need to rent (or buy) a car for such short stays. How does your landscaping hold up in between visits?
I hire a lawn mowing & pest control company and another company that monitors my house and makes sure the sprikler system is working. They run a check every month.
@@GaryAbbott Good to know. That could be another video topic. All the services available to care for your home away from home.
Thanks.
Moving there soon great video
I really like this style of video, Gary
Thanks as it was a different style video from me.
my question where did you purchase those beautiful cabinets ?
They came from IKEA.
Gary, how long was the ride from Sawgrass to Eastport in your golf cart?
I didn’t time it out, but by golf cart between 10-15 minutes.
hi gary, is golf car insurance required inside the villages? thanks
Not required but it is usually between $100 to $200 a year if you get it. Since golf carts sell in the Villages between $14K and $25K its not bad to have.
A video solely on why people move within The Villages is a great topic. Amenities? Infrastructure? That new house vibe down south? Nevertheless buying and selling and moving costs time and money.
I agree that would be a good video.
Do standard garages in TV have vents for air circulation?
No vents in the garage. Many leave the door open 6 inches during the day.
@@GaryAbbott If I move down there, I think I'd try to add a fan (like an attic fan) or vents to pull the hot air out of the garage. Prolonged exposure to high temps is not good for cars and golf carts.
Hi Gary , enjoyed the video. Quick question that is off topic a bit. Are E bikes allowed to be in the golf cart lanes / paths when out for a ride or are those just for golf carts. If not where can you ride an E bike safely. Thanks for all you do with your videos.
Our garage has 4 panels of sliding screen doors. I slide them over the door opening when I'm running the laundry. We're interested in changing them out for the roll down screen style.
definitely post the whole 10 minute video. You can even say it's just video, no sound, or add some music. I love seeing what the villages looks like and a continuous video would give a different perspective than short clips
how much did 5 days cost?
The only things I purchased for the 5 or 6 days was the round trip airfare $250 and shuttle service to & from the airport $100. Everything else is just like at home (food & drinks) without nightly entertainment. Keep in mind if we add what I pay to own my home it was expensive. :)
Just purchased a home in Moultrie Creek. If anyone has questions just let me know. I’ve learned a lot!
NH here too! Hope to move there
Gotta tell you… it’s one of the best of your videos. I am in my 50s … living in New York City…. Seriously, considering buying a place in the villages... could you believe it ..with my ADT and ADHD (attention deficit disorder…) watched entirely 33 minutes video of yours. and that does not happen too often. usually after five minutes..I have to move on. thanks for the video… Tell me when you planning moving to villages for good. Thank you.
Hi Ben, Thank you for watching the entire video. It definitely was a different style of video for me. I retire from my job at the end of this month. Will be doing some PT work for them afterwards for a few months. My hope is to be full time in the Villages before year end.
We are moving into Dabney this week. See ya at the pool.
Yes…… show more front can video
Long-sleeved shirt and your arms still got burned!
I wore a short sleeve and should have had the long sleeve.
