great stuff Sam! i think their hustle back - hunting back-tips really speeds teams up. But their ability to wall up and create charges is really special. i think that is the GOLD here. their players are willing to take the charge and not reach. Also, like you mention, they are disciplined enough to not try for the block - instead maintaining their "wall". another interesting notice - most of your clips are early in the game...this is before their opponent is dead tired in the 2nd half! Teams can stay close for a while, but they eventual tire. I think that breeds a ton of confidence into Nova SE, as they know that the score just needs to be close in the first half - then the 2nd half they will run them off the floor. Great breakdown. thanks for sharing.
It’s amazing that the coach for Nova, Jim Crutchfield, was West Liberty’s coach for years and put them on the map with this style of play. They won and won big. He finally won the title. I was glad to see it. You can see why this was a record setting game. Same style for both teams, originated by coach Crutchfield when he was at W.L. for years.
You forgot to mention that Coach Crutchfield was the head coach of West Liberty University for 15 years. Just saying West Liberty is used to playing this style is kind of lie, the style was invented at West Liberty.
