Ive owned a ranger for several years and wheel bearings have always been a problem. My question is they recomend this grease adapter tool thing to grease them. Well they are a sealed bearing right?? Are you not compromising them when you force grease into and break the seal??
My question is, Polaris is known for premature bearing death (as is Honda in my area). Those junk OEM bearings cost 3x the price of an all balls bearing. So why would I buy a Polaris HD bearing at probably 5x the industry leaders bearings and those are renowned to last? I'm not anti OEM, but when something sucks at 3x the price, I certainly won't but the HD at even more. My dealer said my 850 HL bearings were going at 2000km and I didn't ride mud a lot. In factaybe 5% of the time. If what is said is true, I must assume the HL comes with HD bearings. So again, why would I buy something inferior that's many times the cost of the industry leaders? Now, I put 5200km on my KQ 750, 4800km on my AC, 3000km on a Kymco 300, why have none of those needed new bearings but my HL did and I ride the same trails, the HL was about peace of mind, not crazy ostacruiser stuff.
Just use a quality Japanese Bearing like KOYO, they are much better quality than the OEM "polaris" bearings and cheaper. Some of the mid quality cheaper bearings are okay if you take one of the seals off and put in a quality grease and pack it mostly full of grease. A lot of the bearings you buy have very little grease in them and that is why a lot of them don't last long. I picked up a polaris for a good deal and had to do a lot of work on the cv axles and bearings. I favor the Japanese atvs / side by sides myself.
I just got those for a ranger xp 1000 2022 crew . But they get in so easy BY HAND . (Not even needing a press) They also have a play once inside the knuckle So Im not sure if I got the right ones Part# 3515090.
Shouldn’t we get that anyway for what we pay for these things?
