I remember my grandparents and great grandparents telling me of their up bringing and life in Cyprus, they described it as simpler and uncomplicated times, but a great deal of hard work was involved in order to survive.
The Cyprus of my parents was trying to find its way out of the mess the British created and left behind, the Cyprus of my grandparents was is often depicted as quaint, romantic even, the reality was somewhat different.
