I can't stop watching this. Beautiful ! The girl in the brown top is a dream. I can't imagine anything more feminine than this dance. And her doing it.
Thank you for the comment. We didn't go to Merrie Monarch this year, but possibly again one day. We have in the past though! This version is sung by Natalie Ai Kamauu. She is a well known beautiful singer out of Oahu, Hawaii. In fact she is a former Ms. Aloha Hula and her families Halau competes every year at Merrie Monarch. She actually sang for them. AWESOME! Thanks Again!
First of all your halau looks tight. Hopefully one day I can watch you guys perform. I'm not Hawaiin but when I watched Merrie Monarch the first time I was hooked. Did you guys go this year? I was wondering who sings this version? I heard the original but there's something about the way this one is sung that seems inspiring. Mahalo
@savvy1954 why???? what if they are honoring the island of Lana'i, what if one of the teachers is from Lana'i. What if the inspirations comes in 'alani=orange? leave it alone relax and know that its expense to make those skirts so you find a material that's nice and inexpensive you go with it!
