This is one of my top favourite songs of all time. I love ALL of The Supremes but this is my favourite lineup: Jean, Mary and Cindy. Jean stole my heart when I was a kid. You did a GREAT job on this! Thank you so much. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Love the modern mix you did on this! Looking at the photos I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time because so many of my LGBT friends were behind the scenes at Motown creating those looks for these women! Growing up during the Motown years was a sheer delight and made Detroit a barrel of laughs. We would go to Canada to dance on an after-school dance party, "Swing Time" and be introduced to all of the latest artists in the Motown growing family! Thanks for the memories.
theSUPREMEscene I love the Jean Terrell years as well. I remember reading in one of Mary Wilson's books, where said if the Jean, Mary, Cindy, line-up had gotten the proper attention from the start, they would of had the most potential to make it, and I couldn't agree with her more. I love this song as well as Stoned Love, Nathan Jones, and I Keep It Hid.
this is pretty darn great! while I do LOVE me sum Miss Ross I was also a big Jean Terrell fan. always felt she was never fully given the credit due for helping recreating the Supremes sound to a new level. the Diana-led Supremes were impecable and without a doubt perfection BUT - and this is just me saying.... - Jean's voice was unique and quite enjoyable to the ear. in particular the Touch and The Supremes With Jimmy Webb lps. thanks for sharing this terrific remix. mucho good!
Yes I loved this song so much and always will. The Supremes are supreme always in my mind and heart even after Diana left the group they were fantastic and produced many more hits until 1977 when sadly they disbanded. Your music is still being played in 2021 how's that for supreme power..
On this day in 1970 {February 15th} the Supremes performed "Up The Latter To The Roof" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... One month later on March 7th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #10 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #5 on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart and #6 on the U.K. Singles chart... This was the Supremes 1st release without Diana Ross; the new lineup was Jean Terrel {lead singer}, Cindy Birdsong, and Mary Wilson...
WOW again. I remember starting my days when I was a kid to this song. I still listen to it as a pick me up. This is masterful. You are a genius! May I please buy a copy of this extended mix for my iPhone? Los, NYC
You can find the Almighty Mix of "Up The Ladder..." on the CD collection "Almighty Definitive Collection 5". In addition, the next Volume in that series has a new Almighty Mix of "Stoned Love", which is also worth hearing.
I love this, magnificent! One of my all-time faves has been greatly enhanced and the pics are also stunning! I am definitely closer to heaven! Is this available on a CD?
@ 5:41 when she says Don't you want to go, what happened to the fierce bass skippin'? You did a great job with Animoto on the remix but why did you leave out the Funk Bros signature bass sound?
You are out of your mind. Diana Ross and the supremes broke all sorts of major records. they gave the Beatles a run for their money. This lead singer here did nothing like that. The people with you people is you are ungrateful. Diana broke down barriers for other blacks and black female singers. She was and still is amazing. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I just love this remix! Who could top the original '70's Supremes! Mary, Cindy, and Jean ROCK!!! Who said they still needed what's her name?
so they had a few lucky hits without Dianna, so what?
They had maybe two hits, after Diana, but the new Supremes never reached the success when Diana was part of the group.

You made it man. It sounds like Lady Gaga's Applause. Thankyou
don't insult the Supremes.
FANTASTIC! Always loved this song and now you rekindled even more love for it!

Truthfully, Jean's voice and abilities were light years ahead of Diana's.
Wrong.
