“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT
Oh, Jimmy. You'll need all that white glue. Maybe not on this project, but sooner or later. Another great video. Thanks for all your efforts.
Pretty neat build, Jimmy! I've put together laser cut kits in the past and am always amazed how well they fit together whether they are wood, aluminum, or lexan.
For someone like me who gets anxiety going to hardware stores (mainly because I don't know what the equivalent of some stuff are in South Africa). This is perfect. Everything cut and measured just put together. Love it
Nice engineering and it looks like quality material but VERY expensive at $40 with shipping.
Agreed. Fairly spendy. You could certainly source your own materials and build your own module from scratch for a LOT less cost. But... This does save quite a bit of time especially if you don't have the woodworking tools, etc. or live in an apartment where you don't have space to do that kind of wood work and have to worry about noise.
Hex key can be found beside 10mm socket
Hey Jimmy keep building your train Choo choo
Great video and tutorial of your purchase of the Osborn T-Track module kit. I bought one recently and used it for a Railroad Diorama that I do. Thanks again for sharing your videos with us.
That was fun to watch AND with my limited space, it could be something I might have to try!
Thank you! Very well presented. Since you buy these with your own money, how a bout a comparative video some day between the different makers and your own module builds?
That was a great video. I hope you turn it into a series by building out the section and showing it in use or at a meet.
Looks like a super nice product, but it’s not very cost efficient if you want to build even a simple layout out of those things. Great to bring one to a show though.
This has become my new favorite channel.
I didn't get it when I first started watching it, but it's really brass tacks and exactly what a MR DIY channel should be.
Very nice video. Osborn makes some excellent kits and accessories. I bought their portable workstation (KIIT-7006) and love it. The kit was well designed, easy to assemble and reasonably priced. Keep up the great videos.
Dude thats awsome . I'm gonna buy one just to make diorama.
Most interesting but not the route I want to go. I love how the manufacturer has made it so easy to put together.
T-trak combined layouts can produce some interesting aspects. Like world record layouts 15 scale miles & longer. I participated in San Antonio world record which has been broken at least once
I have a couple of modules by Masterpiece Modules that I picked of four or five years ago. I heard that they are no longer in business. These look like they'd fit right in with them.
its like being back at school, yes sir
I want happy with the track/terrain ratio on my T Trak so im starting over in z scale i bought a Great Northern RS3 im knda of excited to see how this works out
AWESOME!!! Thank you for sharing.
Darn cool idea💡🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🙋
good vid thanks lee
Very interesting. I'm wondering if it would be possible to glue the wooden tabs to the baseboard without gluing them to the track so that you could remove the track at a later stage?
So where can I find information about building, from the ground up, t-trak modules??????
Not building, assembling. There's a big difference
I like this
Now do power connectors and such
Nice video. I wasn't familiar with the fact that Osborn does T-Trak kits. I'm particularly impressed with the use of insert nuts for the foot mounts.
How did you purchase this? Osborn is Candian, correct?
Pretty cool build Jimmy! Do they make this for HO scale as well? That would make it easier for me to build a LCC demo layout for trainshows than the two modules I built myself. I also have a friend who built a massive N scale modular layout with modules from CMR Products before the showstopper and he uses the Kato extension adapters to connect his modules and he takes it to trainshows too. - Jason
CMR products is the company of my best friend here in PA...I work with them in the Easy Effects dept
I'm a designer for a box company, and I could make these all day out of cardboard on my sample table.
Do you have a way to seal cardboard that would keep it from fraying over time or absorbing moisture and distorting the shape of the module? At $40 (with shipping) a pop for these modules, they are a bit pricey. If cardboard could be made stable long term, and priced significantly lower, you might have a viable product. With the scarcity of Baltic Birch for the foreseeable future, another source of building material will be welcome.
@@cdjhyoung I just made one that's 24x24x4. Super sturdy and easy to build, all out of cardboard. I made it sort of like this one. All the parts have tabs and slots they go into. You can use either hot glue or white glue to hold it all together. To stand up over time, I'd probably have to use a more robust and thicker board. You could coat it in scotch guard to help repel any moisture.
A strong foundation is important. I would make the buildings from cardboard and the support structure from wood. A temporary cardboard mockup during the design phase is alright until you decide on the final design and then go wood.
Could you put the track the other way then you did it??
Jimmie dat look shabooogie Cool i want one, can those kits be attached together to make one long section and in a 12ft Foot Room about how many would it take to fit the length..like the Free-Mo set ups these would be neat to set a different scene..
Thanks for showing these.. But No! Coffee for me. For me the Dr. Is what I need & gets me a going and keeps me Wise my Dr. Pepper..
Jimmy: Thanks! Modules have been a causality of war. Since Baltic birch comes from Russia. I may buy 4 modules(2 straight and 2 curves.). Interface them with 3 and 4 foot modules I own. Stay safe!
Could you use that for HO scale track too?
I plan on using S on mine and it's pretty big compared to N scale so I imagine HO would work fine.
You've got to be kidding all of us!!!!!!!!!!
What is He kidding about?
How thick is the plywood?
I love idea of T-Trak, but I'm afraid the curves are just too tight unless you're only in modern (diesel) locomotives.
What Locomotives do You want to run on it?
@@rakerss74 Steam, mainly Mikados and Pacifics.
A Canadian-made kit that doesn't use Robertson screws?!
you said anybody can build this do you really think Heath can build this it would take a whole day for him to open the box
Honestly…. That is a big waste of money considering that if you like to “build things” and have some minimum talent in your hands and some basic tools you can build it from scratch for a fraction of the cost of buying it
Where is the money? 💵+📥+📨=📬
For those subscribers to DIY and Digital Railroad who lack the knowledge of what a module is exactly, and what function they serve, it would have proven fruitful to briefly mention these two items. Otherwise, for those who simply lack the awareness, this video would be practically meaningless to them.
