For metal lids on glass jars, I hit the edge of the lid with the metal handle of a knife or other metal utensil in about 4 places around the top. You just have to hit it hard enough to make small dents. This usually breaks the vacuum seal, and your hand doesn't suffer discomfort when you twist off the lid. If necessary, hit a couple more times in between the other dents if it doesn't work the first time. I haven't broken/cracked a glass jar yet. I will try the methods in the video for those annoying plastic lids that I can't use the aforementioned method on. Thank you for posting options!

Good tips. My mom taught me to tap the edge of the lid sharply with the handle of a butter knife. You tap it in at least 3 or 4 places around the rim. If you think the jar is really stubborn, you can tap it more. Then it unscrews easily.

Para abrir frascos es bueno golpear suavemente los lados de la tapa suavemente con un objeto duro, por ejemplo, una cuchara o un cuchillo y luego intentar abrirlo. A veces esto funciona.

Còn hai cách khác . Một là lấy cán dao gõ đều quanh nắp lọ ,rồi dùng tay vặn . Hay là dùng một đoạn dây cao su dài khoảng 20cm quấn chăt vài vòng rồi dùng tay vặn . Cách dùng mũi kéo hoặc tua vít để nghiêng lọ nạy dễ bị trượt ,nguy hiểm . Tốt nhất úp ngược hẳn lọ rồi nạy để lọt khí ,xong lật lại mở mà không sợ nước trong lọ sánh ra ngoài . Cách dùng que và dây của bạn rất hay .
First one you didn't release the blue cap seal at the bottom. If you cut open by knife the bottom cap seat attached, caps open easily. No need to remove it completely. Cap only can be opened with a Rubber band over the cap and unscrew. Secondly always see bottom air tight the top lid centre should be inserted view. If it shows like a cap or optic glass don't buy it. Because some one already opened it so not air tight sealed original. Secondly use a flat screw driver or a pen knife edge and carefully lock the cap edge to the glass and expand. It will make a vacuum filled sound and pop opened easily.
If your jar has a metal lid, you can put in contact the intersection of the lid and the glass directly with the flame of a stove burner. You have to keep rotating the jar fast just for a few moments. It is similar to your method with boiling water. It uses the different temperature dilatation of glass and metal.
Ещё один способ открытия банок: складываем руки в замок и сжимаем крышку ладонями, скрещенные пальцы над крышкой. Отпустили и немного поворачиваем банку и снова сжимаем. Повторяем до тех пор, пока не произойдет хлопок. После этого легко открываем крышку.
Я делаю проще, чем наливать в тазик горячую воду по горлышко банки, я просто пливаю крышку банки горячей водой несколько секунд, затем открываю с помощью полотенца.

It hit a hard to open large cap with the back of a meat cleaver as I rotate the jar toward me. After about five taps it opens easily.

Use a real leather belt ... loop it around the jar lid and take hold of both ends of the belt next to jar. Use belt as handle to loosen lid.

No, the lid does not always open immediately just by knocking a few times. I don't have to do that at all.
