Just in case no one knows. Before opening a trait chest, save right before then open if you don't get level 3 or something you like manual load and repeat. You may have to resave after one of the manual loads, because it adds an auto save everytime you open the chest. So when the available load slots have your manual save on the bottom of the list resave after loading in front of the box to have your manual save file on top of the list. And keep essentially re-rolling. You can do this for any chest that's random which is most. Personally I only have all level 3 traits unlocked. Love that deafening (mandrake boost). Never settle for non level 3. I do this personally only on these chests, but depending sometimes on wand handles. Of its during a story mission when you load it may take you to before you entered and cleared the camp and you will have to walk back to the chest but the camp will still be cleared. Otherwise you should load exactly where you were in front of the chest. It can be annoying re-rolling, but it literally is 15 seconds or less between loads. Worth it. If you care you can do it for all chest, room or requirement ones. I just think it's a good habit to save before opening any chest, in case.
Griffindor had other tasks and locations in the main story compared to Hufflepuff. When you need to find the missing pages my brother had completely different things to do before it finally concluded in the same dungeon. So there are differences. I hope there will be more in future quests.
Yeah, the Jackdaw story was different for me and my wife (Ravenclaw vs Slytherin). You end up in the same place, but the journey is slightly different.
As the other person said, each house has a specific quest that is unique to them that explains how you meet Jackdaw. Other than that, there are literally no other gameplay difference between houses besides access to common room, which is just flavor.
In a way, wouldn't "selling" it for a better price mean we are selling items in the shop. You just don't sell it yourself. Penny does that. You're giving Penny items for her to sell.

Gryffindor visits the Headless Hunt, with Nearly Headless Nick. Slytherin gets the quest from Scopes the house elf. Ravenclaw gets the quest from Ollivander.
Max level is 40, not 50. You do also get in trouble for using dark arts during Sebastian's quest depending on what you say to his uncle. The houses are also a little different. Like for Slytherin it'll be the potion guy that gives you a quest but for Ravenclaw it's Olivander instead. The students you interact with are also a little different.
Feel like the impact of using unforgivable curses is not what it should be, considering that in the lore, using one of them would get you sent straight to Azkaban. I am not suggesting we get sent to Azkaban for using them; but there should be consequences or at least interaction differences that are noticeable.

They explicitly said that there wouldn't be a morality system, because they wanted to let players have the freedom to use dark magic but such a system would be a massive undertaken on its own merits. They wanted to get a solid game out the door, not slap on even more scope creep that wouldn't even feel satisfying to play with at the end. How about that red dead 2 morality system huh? Kill entire towns, but you can pat yourself on the back at the end of the day because you caught and released 500 fish.
There are actually zero enemies with a counter to the AK spell. Max level is 40, and it can only be reached by 100%-ing the field guide challenges and completing all quests. Nothing can be bought from the player-owned shop. The Azkaban area of the game is accessible only by hufflepuffs during the early-game quest “Jackdaw’s Rest”. There are also multiple endings based on very specific main story choices and NPC’s will occasionally have different dialogue for you depending on how you treated them. Devil’s in the details

I was able to retcon my wand...but I pulled it off on PC using a save editor, database viewer, save file management, and a dash of trial and error. Moral of the story: please please please make sure that your wand is certainly something that you want or, better yet, do the import from wizarding world.
I dont think people realize the scope of having branching story lines, and how many factors you deal with when making open ended quests. I doubt we will see anything substantial in that category, until we can figure out how shrink the amount of time and effort it would take to make entirely different branches of a game based on subtle morality mechanics.

I've made a Slytherin and Ravenclaw character, and gotten to that quest in both. Anyways, in Slytherin, a house elf tells you about a Black family ring he wants to get back for Professor Black. You find Richard Jackdaw's ghost in the hidden grotto where the elf told you the ring should be. In Ravenclaw though, it's a quest from Ollivander about a wizard who stole a wand from his ancestor. The wizard that stole that wand? Richard Jackdaw. You find him on top of the owlery. I don't know what the other two houses get for that questline yet, but I have a feeling they get the Ollivander start. Would like confirmation though. Still, with at least that small difference, it's possible your house does in fact have some cosmetic differences to certain questlines, which is a nice touch without making any one house objectively better than the other in terms of gameplay and quests. Especially not when Ravenclaw is already the superior option in every other way.
SPOILERS!!! DO NOT READ! (UNLESS YOU WANT THEM) Eldritch Diggory in a painting within the Hufflepuff common room actually tells you vague details and tells you to go see his great-niece Helen, who is an Auror, in a town just north of Hogsmeade then you get told about a woman called Anne who got sentenced to Azkaban for his murder even though she never saw him that night then you have to figure out the puzzle of the place where Jackdaw sent Anne (which she never made it past as she couldn't figure it out but figured it out in Azkaban) and are taken to Azkaban to meet her and she tells you about the place and there's a puzzle in which you have to "accio" certain drawers open and then you find Jackdaw's letter/clue/puzzle thing hidden behind a door that opened only when you opened all the correct drawers and then he appears.
From de houses chest. Need 16 house emblems from locked cabinets with flying keys. Every house has a diferent one. This one is sliverin. Can only get your house robe.
These days, console exclusive content for multi-console games are generally "meh" content. Even if it's a timed exclusive it really shouldn't be a big deal to anyone. Just an hour of content isn't a big deal. However, I do have a PS5 and I'll enjoy it lol.

9:16 PSA: for those playing on the hardest difficulty. Keep Mini Map at least b/c it's nice to glance at in fights w/ multiple enemies. Why? Well I want to know if I'm gonna need to be ready to parry an attack so glance at mini map see 1 enemy behind me so i know to be ready for the reticle to appear etc.
that and in round 3 of crossed wands before you unlock talents the venomous tentacular plants you can get for use are invaluable for ground control so help the cowardly kid its worth it just for the plants you find. Those Venomous Tentacular allowed me to create blockades to more easily pick off the opponents one by one.
The shop from the PS5 exclusive quest does not sell items, it only buys gear from you like any other shop but paying a 10% extra 4:25 it doesn't have 3 legendaries every time you visit, what you're showing there is your current inventory and you happened to have 3 unrevealed legendaries. The shop is honestly pretty underwhelming, but the quest itself is still worth it because it's pretty fun.

I’m sure others have pointed it out, but the shop you get from the minding your own business quest is only for selling items. You can’t actually buy anything from penny as it’s your own shop, but the caveat to it is when you sell to penny she buys your items for slightly more than they’re worth. For instance a green item priced at 90 will sell for 99.
I swear people need to stop thinking both playstation exclusives will be available to all. One of the devs, Chandler wood even confirmed the Felix felicious potion recipe is EXCLUSIVE to playstation pre orders only. And won't be coming to all platforms. Only one that is coming to all platforms is the haunted hogsmeade shop quest.

All the potion does is show a certain loot trunk on your mini map for an in game day. So pointless as hell as it gets revealed same as everything else important with the Revealio spell you start the game with.
Just finish my first 9-hours walkthrough. This game is freaking huge! I still didn’t even get access to my broom😅 Hogwarts itself looks and feels amazing, and I really like the narrative. Can’t wait to return to this world to continue the story.
You didn't mention that if you want to free Penny (your house elf), you have to do it the SINGLE time you are prompted. You WILL NOT get another chance. I didn't free her because I thought it would be part of the shop options, and I'd be able to do it later...I was wrong.
Why are people so mean. You need a PC for work too, so if you don't have enough money for both, you have to decide for the pc instead of a PlayStation. I own a ps4, but I have the game for pc because I would need to buy a ps5 for only one or two games that I would play on it. And it feels unfair to play a game and pay full price if you don't get the same experience because some Quests are only available for consoles (ps5)
i made the mistake of doing the Phineas quest before learning Crucio - that one is time sensitive. after i came back from it i lost the ability to learn the unforgivable curses.
Wow, I didn't know about the PS5 exclusives, that's actually bogus. I could probably over look it if it was just cosmetics. (Mind you that outfit was fire) But an awesome looking quest, and your own shop? Only because you have a PlayStation seems unfair.. Like having additional paid content everyone can access is fine. Not sure why I haven’t received the dark arts contents I’m now level 10, received the field guide and I preordered the delux edition. Not sure why I don’t have it in my gear? Anyone else have this issue?
They are just appearance items not actual gear. In the gear menu just hover over an item category and go to the appearance menu. Square on PS. They will appear in that menu.
I was denied access to areas within my House, based on gender. Girls are not allowed in boys dorms, and vice versa. Ravenclaw had armor statues blocking the way. In Hufflepuff, the stairs turn to slides. Couldn't even find the access in Gryffindor. And haven't run around Slytherin's dungeons looking yet.
The penny mission I thought was great didn’t know I had a fear of the dark till the game put my character in a pitch black room and when the lights came on your surrounded by mannequins. Scared me pretty good like I sad didn’t even know I had that fear.
I do believe that the PS content is only temporarily exclusive. It will be made available for everyone else at a later date. At least, that's what I read, I think on IGN.
That is so awesome that Sony PlayStation gets better additional gameplay options, pays to be a PS5 owner and gamer. Sony may not be perfect but at least they give their customers good exclusive games and exclusive features that are fun. Better than trying to buy companies and produce nothing or monopolize a computer industry and put people on pay plans for software you use to be able to own. 90% of people don’t need an updated office suite, and most computers are made to slow down and breakdown to keep you buying but it’s all created that way, mainly due to Microsoft. In ghost of Tsushima people tell you to stop being the ghost pretty much the whole samurai community does but at the end of the day you arint playing samurai of Tsushima your playing ghost of Tsushima and THAT is a comparison to this game you can’t just completely forsake Hogwarts your playing Hogwarts legacy you get what you expect and though you can learn these dark spells that make the game easier you can also just choose not to in the end it’s on the user to choose how they want to experience the game and story.
I tried linking my accounts, WOULD NOT happen. It just failed over and over on release day. I figured there was to much traffic on the servers, so I was forced to skip it if I wanted to play.
I think the name you pick for your shop has an effect. I picked a different option and mine doesn’t sell me anything but I can sell my gear to it for 10% more.
I am a bit upset about the PS5 players getting some special treatment for some reason but not that upset about it its not like what they got was to game changing. I'm still just as excited
Its all business. A bonus only to PS5 is a handshake agreement between Sony and Avalanche Software. Pretty common actually. It still sucks, but its how these companies sell new consoles.

Hufflepuff house quest takes you to Azkaban and shows dementors and Patronus spell (but you can't get your own, unfortunately). Of course TH-camrs play Slytherin because they are ambitious, so this one came as a surprise to me.
The PlayStation exclusive quest is not worth it, by the time you get access to the quest the 10% extra money you get by selling items to that shop and the cosmetic set is a waste of time, and the Felix Felicis potion is also a waste of time as well
You get one mask right away, which is the skull one that onpy covers half your face. The one you mentioned which is in the picture of the deluxe pack you get after succesfully beating the dark arts arena.
10:00 I thought the max level was 40? I haven't reached it myself but everywhere I saw said so, and that you can't get all talents, which you would be able to if the max is actually 50. I think.
7:09 This makes sense considering the time period the game is set in. What do I mean by this? METAPHOR: Late 1800's USA the West, wasn't part of the USA by then so 2 things were super important your horse and your gun. It was more than ok to kill someone trying to steal your horse, mess with your family, etc and get away with it. I'm not too far into the game but I assume it's the same thing here, "dark magic" aka "guns" are still used by "good ppl" but as a last ditch thing. TLDR: We are in the Wild West time period of Wizards and Witches, they used un forgiveable curses as a last resort to protect themselves in this dark time period. The Wizarding World isn't as tightly woven together and they don't seem to police each other that much in this time period.

I remember loads of people telling me not to be the ghost in ghost of tsushima. It was actually a whole plot point.
There’s one quest unique to each house. I know Ravenclaw’s involves the owlery and Hufflepuff goes to Azakaban
As long as I can explore a lot I am happy. It’s nice to finally have a stable game to play on release as far as it looks.

Only one that is coming to all platforms is the haunted hogsmeade shop quest.

@@MrSkippy216 The description says it grants a bonus for one in-game day. So I imagine it's loot luck: more gold, higher chance for higher rarities to drop.
All the potion does is show a certain loot trunk on your mini map for an in game day. So pointless as hell as it gets revealed same as everything else important with the Revealio spell you start the game with.

Hogwarts itself looks and feels amazing, and I really like the narrative. Can’t wait to return to this world to continue the story.

Why are people so mean. You need a PC for work too, so if you don't have enough money for both, you have to decide for the pc instead of a PlayStation. I own a ps4, but I have the game for pc because I would need to buy a ps5 for only one or two games that I would play on it.
And it feels unfair to play a game and pay full price if you don't get the same experience because some Quests are only available for consoles (ps5)
i made the mistake of doing the Phineas quest before learning Crucio - that one is time sensitive. after i came back from it i lost the ability to learn the unforgivable curses.

Wow, I didn't know about the PS5 exclusives, that's actually bogus. I could probably over look it if it was just cosmetics. (Mind you that outfit was fire) But an awesome looking quest, and your own shop? Only because you have a PlayStation seems unfair.. Like having additional paid content everyone can access is fine. But loosing game options because you don't have the proper system is bogus.

They are just appearance items not actual gear. In the gear menu just hover over an item category and go to the appearance menu. Square on PS. They will appear in that menu.
You don’t actually get them lol you just always have them you can change an armor you don’t like to another armor you found or to your dlc cosmetics
From what I've been told by a friend of you choose griffindore you get to go to azkaban
There is a house specific side quest for each house, the one for slytherin is do with the giant squid.
I read Hufflepuffs is cool, you get to go to Azkaban.

Girls are not allowed in boys dorms, and vice versa.
Ravenclaw had armor statues blocking the way.
In Hufflepuff, the stairs turn to slides.
Couldn't even find the access in Gryffindor.
And haven't run around Slytherin's dungeons looking yet.
My story missions are level 4 and I'm level 16 lmao
The penny mission I thought was great didn’t know I had a fear of the dark till the game put my character in a pitch black room and when the lights came on your surrounded by mannequins. Scared me pretty good like I sad didn’t even know I had that fear.
The biggest deal are the dualsense mechanics.
Can you comment on possible expansions, or if there’s any discussion to keep this going be on the base game.
There are parts of the world that are undefined and you cant access them - for sure DLC there

I do believe that the PS content is only temporarily exclusive. It will be made available for everyone else at a later date. At least, that's what I read, I think on IGN.
there's one specific quest that is different depending on your house.
Houses have different quests leading up to entering jackdaws tomb and the map chamber
That is so awesome that Sony PlayStation gets better additional gameplay options, pays to be a PS5 owner and gamer. Sony may not be perfect but at least they give their customers good exclusive games and exclusive features that are fun. Better than trying to buy companies and produce nothing or monopolize a computer industry and put people on pay plans for software you use to be able to own. 90% of people don’t need an updated office suite, and most computers are made to slow down and breakdown to keep you buying but it’s all created that way, mainly due to Microsoft. In ghost of Tsushima people tell you to stop being the ghost pretty much the whole samurai community does but at the end of the day you arint playing samurai of Tsushima your playing ghost of Tsushima and THAT is a comparison to this game you can’t just completely forsake Hogwarts your playing Hogwarts legacy you get what you expect and though you can learn these dark spells that make the game easier you can also just choose not to in the end it’s on the user to choose how they want to experience the game and story.
Have to wait until May 5th but the game looks absolutely AMAZING! Can't WAIT to play it!

I think the name you pick for your shop has an effect. I picked a different option and mine doesn’t sell me anything but I can sell my gear to it for 10% more.

Its all business. A bonus only to PS5 is a handshake agreement between Sony and Avalanche Software. Pretty common actually. It still sucks, but its how these companies sell new consoles.

Playstation helped them developing the game, this is why they got it first but it will be added as a DLC to other platforms next year

Hufflepuff house quest takes you to Azkaban and shows dementors and Patronus spell (but you can't get your own, unfortunately). Of course TH-camrs play Slytherin because they are ambitious, so this one came as a surprise to me.

The PlayStation exclusive quest is not worth it, by the time you get access to the quest the 10% extra money you get by selling items to that shop and the cosmetic set is a waste of time, and the Felix Felicis potion is also a waste of time as well
The shop is just for you to sell gear from your inventory, you can't buy anything
U can't buy items from your own shop, only sell it for more profit

In the Dark Arts pack why does the mask shown in the bottom right of the picture so much different to the one you get in game?

There are 2 masks you get one from pre ordering and one from linking your wizarding account
You get one mask right away, which is the skull one that onpy covers half your face. The one you mentioned which is in the picture of the deluxe pack you get after succesfully beating the dark arts arena.
I have found 3 total Dark Arts Areas so far in my 50+ hour game.

7:09 This makes sense considering the time period the game is set in. What do I mean by this? METAPHOR: Late 1800's USA the West, wasn't part of the USA by then so 2 things were super important your horse and your gun. It was more than ok to kill someone trying to steal your horse, mess with your family, etc and get away with it. I'm not too far into the game but I assume it's the same thing here, "dark magic" aka "guns" are still used by "good ppl" but as a last ditch thing. TLDR: We are in the Wild West time period of Wizards and Witches, they used un forgiveable curses as a last resort to protect themselves in this dark time period. The Wizarding World isn't as tightly woven together and they don't seem to police each other that much in this time period.
