Great shave. I don’t have a favorite Bond film, but I used to play a James Bond game on my PS2 called From Russia With Love as a kid. My memory of playing that game just got unlocked because of this Bond themed shave. My SOTD for tomorrow will be of the KCG razor with a Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade, Maggards B&W synthetic brush, Stirling Barbershop soap, Clubman Pinaud splash, and the Edge Cooling Post Shave Balm. Now that I finally got the Indian Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades that had always eluded me, I’ll get to try them and see how well they’ll do for me. Have a good one!
Many thanks Kevin. Apologies for the late reply buddy. I’ve been really busy. I used to play Tomorrow Never Dies on the PS. Another great setup there, I hope your shave went well. Those blades are very nice. Good blade for me. Take it easy buddy. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
Thnx Chris, Dr. No/Sean Connery, liked early Bonds stirred¬ shaken.😊 I sleep in also caught Paul H. my time was 1:30am. My sotd was Parker78r yaqi synthetic rainbow, TOBS sandlewood, artisan pottery lather bowl, #2 use Big Ben blade. The best
Thanks Fred. I appreciate it buddy. Yes the early bond films are the best. The TOBS Sandalwood is one of the best Sandalwood scents out there in my opinion. Take care buddy, have a great week. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
Nice shave Chris! I enjoyed hearing the birds during the shave 😀 We have some birds here that stay during the winter, but it's too cold to have the windows open, it was 12°F(-11C) last night 😉 I have a small sample size aftershave that I made with HC&C James Bond, really nice scent 👍SOTD: the Twig with a Statum blade, Stirling Black soap and splash (Blackfriday scent last year, inspired by Polo Black) PAA Phantom Aerolite brush, and Dove Hydrate post shave balm. Have a good one! Steve
Thanks Steve, I appreciate it as always buddy. Love the morning chorus in the mornings. Yes it’s a great scent isn’t it. I’m loving your shave’s buddy. Have an awesome week buddy. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
Nice Sunday shave, Chris! I can't recall if I ever bought that soap from Pete. I am not sure I can pick an overall favorite movie but Connery is my favorite Bond. Have a great week! My SOTD was: Razor - Aylsworth Apex with Personna Med Prep blade (1st use) Brush - Alpha Shaving/Thäter 400 handle with 26mm Declaration Grooming badger knot Soap - Barrister and Mann Latha Oceana (very old base) Aftershave - Floid The Genuine and Thayers Rose Witch Hazel
Thanks Steve, appreciate it buddy. Apologies for the late reply, I’ve been really busy. It’s a great scent. Smells top shelf. Sean Connery is an amazing actor and by far the best bond. Excellent set up my friend. Some very nice products there. Take it easy, stay smooth and stay safe 👍
This is the razor that got me into wet shaving. It was either the razor from Goldfinger or the car, and I don't make the kind of money to buy an Aston Martin. (It's also a little safer to leave near the sink than a Walther PPK.) Sean Connery is my favorite Bond, and From Russia With Love is my favorite movie. It's the most realistic cold war era plot in my opinion. The Schick Injector from Live and Let Die is also a really nice shaver.
🤣🤣 wish I could afford an Aston Martin. One of my favourite cars. Yes you’re right, From Russia With Love is a great movie. I don’t own an injector razor. They’ve never appealed to me to be honest. Take it easy buddy and have a great week. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
Nice Shave Chris! I'd have a hard time picking a favourite Bond, but the first one I saw was The Spy Who Loved Me. I really liked the campiness, and 14 year old me was smitten by Barbara Bach. I have a "Goldfinger" Slim (a 1964) and a sample of Bond among the couple dozen samples people have sent me that I haven't gotten to... might be time to pair them up for a shave! And yes, I often wonder about the history behind my vintage razors.
Many thanks Keith. I appreciate it buddy. It’s easy to get smitten with the Bond girls 😂 Absolutely, pair them up and get shaving. It’s had not to think of the history of a vintage isn’t it. Take it easy buddy. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
Great shave Chris, hope you and Mrs B are both well. That's fantastic news about Shaving Time. I must admit to being really disappointed when I heard they were closing. I haven't ordered a lot off of them, apart from I got all my Stirling soaps and balms from them around three years ago. If I'm not mistaken they were at the time, one of if not the only UK stockist of Stirling Soap, and they have a very extensive range of Stirling. For me the favourite James Bond would have to be Sean Connery.
Many thanks buddy I appreciate it. Apologies for the late reply, I’ve been really busy. Yes it’s great news about Shaving Time. And your correct, they are were the only stockiest of Stirling. Sean Connery is #1 for me. Hope you’re having a great week. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
Hey Chris really good shave as always cracking products as per normal.HCC soaps look great I purchased Cowboy up soap the other day and the splash just haven’t go round to using it yet look forward to it though will hopefully have a shave tmoro at some point been busy busy.enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening and take care of yourself 🙂👍🏻
Many thanks Michael, I appreciate it buddy. HC&C have a great base. Let me know how the scent is on the Cowboy Up. I almost got it. I know the feeling buddy busy, busy, busy. Hope you’re having a great week. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
A nice, close Sunday shave. My SOTD was a simple one. Gillette Pure shaving cream face lathered with my Simpson T2 and the Rockwell 6S/R4 plate (Wilkinson Sword (India) blade). Post-shave was alum, witch hazel, and Duke Cannon balm. This is off-topic but did you see SinatraLennon's video about the rusted My Blades Silver? I think you might want to check that out. Have a great week ahead.
Cheers buddy. I appreciate it as always. Nice shave. Nice to have a simple shave now and then. I didn’t see his video, I’ll check it out thanks for the heads up. Have a great week, stay smooth and stay safe 👍
I have never had a strong reaction to any of the Bond films. I simply enjoyed the action and adventure of each with one exception. First, I have to qualify my next statement. I never confuse the actor with the character. So, I am speaking of the characterization. I absolutely detest Daniel Craig's version of Bond. To me, he is an utter thug and that's the beginning and end of my comment on that subject. 😊
Cheers for another excellent shave Chris. Keep healthy and continue to have excellent shaves!👍👍
Many thanks Sparky. I really appreciate it buddy. Have a great week. Stay smooth and stay safe 👍
