Weeknd himself credited Drake for the Toronto sound he was using. You can clearly hear earlier elements in TML and SFG. If you want to stand out among the other documentarians you would think this important and verifiable fact would make it.
I legit treat this series like a class. Actually sitting here taking notes on chopping samples, getting that underwater effect, finding out about Splice, etc. The gems you give out is insane & I aspire to do the same in the future. Salute!🙏🏿
Drake was influenced by Abel for Take Care, but Drake already had the moody atmospheric beats on So Far Gone and Thank Me Later, the Weeknd just made it darker. Abel even said he was inspired by Drake's sound early on but he gave it an edge, so they both can be credited for making the Toronto sound
and The weeknd did like only 4 songs out of 19 and I wouldn't say that those were the songs that made the album besides 'Crew Love' The real iconic songs of this album: Marvins Room, The Motto, HYFR, Cameras, Look What You've done; have nothing to do with The weeknd
The blueprint series taught me so so much about music theory and different styles of beat making. My own beats improved a lot because of it! Keep it going jack, the effort you put into those videos is insane!!
I can tell how much effort must have gone into this.... 3 beats in a 22min video and they all sound like Take Care. now compare this to other producers on TH-cam and how much content / how many beats they showcase in a 22min video. I just really hope you can keep the quality at this level!
