It only took me like 8 years to finally understand it
Likewise, but for audio sends and sidechains
Getting schooled on busses.

Remember when you only took busses to school , how the tables have turned
Ask Jason Bateman 😂
For years I NEVER understood how all this works so i just left it alone. This was a weatlh of information.
Thank you sooo much honestly never seen anyone on TH-cam that explains everything so clear and straight to the point with vids with only 15 mns long I’m literally watching every single of your vids.! Subscribed ✅

This video changed my life 👍
bro after producing for 10 years youve opened my eyes so much with this video alone. Super great advice and its much appreciated. Youve earned a subscriber
14 minutes of pure gold
I've been trying to figure out how to isolate just the fx wet sound and not hear any of the original dry sound and this is just what I was looking for. clearly explained, well done and thanks!!
looking for the same, did you find a solution?
I just found out that if u unroute the dry signal from master, it works
I have been watching many videos about routing and busses but this is by far the best one - simple and comprehensive enough. Thanks man.
I would love to see a video about exporting stems. I’m confused because when I export stems it also exports all the bus and send channels and I’m not sure should I keep just the bus and send channels and delete the original ones or what. What to keep and what is the simplest way to export stems and is there something to consider before exporting 🙏 Cheers!
good stuff..yhanks for passing' on the knowledge...I had to come back to this video.. after forgetting...2 thumbs up!
It totally reminds of Reaper. It's like a channel is a channel. You make it what you need it to be
very informative and easy to follow along
When I want to send an instrument to a SEND reverb the sound I get double the sound when I hit “route to track only” or if I click my left mouse.. but when I hit “side chain to this track I can control the fx (reverb) normally with no double of the sound.. that’s how I’m suppose to do it?
Hey brother,
what about external plugins such as valhalla reverbs? can i make a "send" track without duplicating the original signal?
Thank you!
can you make a video; that's makes the graphite controller simple; "meaning using it". THANK'S
this video deadass changed everything for me
Cool vid. But how do you use a reverb bus if the FX vst doesn't have a dry gain to turn off, such as Supermassive?
Can you do a video on gain staging? Or on how loud two track beats should be with vocals??
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this proberly. I love step by step tutorials where the teacher shows all the different facets of a thing. Just subbed!
Man I’ve been watching videos on buses all day and you finally made it easy for me to understand. Thank you sm
In case anyone doesn't know. Ctrl + L automatically routes whatever you have selected to the mixer, and keeps the same name. You can have everything in the channel rack selected as well and do Ctrl + L and it will route them all. I didn't know this for way too long
What does returning the reverb signal to the drum bus do? And would I want to utilize this process?
Explain by putting in application of different sounds. Enjoyed your video and sub
So if you have 5 drums that are going to the aux reverb track, and you want to control each of the five drums individual send , the you need to create 5 track with sends , one send for each drum? That would be a total if 11 tracks 5 drum track 1 aux reverb track and 5 send tracks?
Aren't you supposed to rout to this track only for the bus routing??
Simply explained and to the point. Thank you.
You explained this so well! Thanks a lot; it was really helpful!
I've looked this up so many times and you're the only youtube guy that made it click, thank you!
wait a minute, im not new at mix and mastering but routing the reverb chanel back to the Drum Bus? for what reason? isnt the same as living it routed to the Master?
Wow, that sucks. In FL studio, you gotta create all that crap by hand? Ableton does all this automatically for you...and you can modify it as you see fit
new sub...i did not understand busses and sends till right now... man thanks for this
Crystal clear. Thankyou 🤝🏻
7:19 Send Tracks: for reverb, delays and other fx.
What if you buss it by frequencey range?
Thank you so much.
God bless you 🙏🏼❤️
Short but oh so sweet, my brain (and I) thank you
I never knew i didn't know what i was doing until now
Today I learnt a new thing that the saperate chainel for reverb plugin. ❤❤
Great explanation :) Thanks

This is Gold - Thank you!

i finally got it

Looking for a mix video start to fin in FL

How do I make the names of the tools to be on top?
Maaan, thank you so much!!!
I LOVE YOU FOR THIS
Is routing same as sending
great video bro, very usefulll, i have question. what is the name of the microphone that yur using? i wnt to buy one just like that very good audio
It’s the Neumann TLM-103
Hi man please Whatt plugin could i use to replace the T racks classical clipper . I've noticed you use it a lot but i don't have this plugin what plugin can i use for doing the same ?? With waves plugin ??
Fruity Soft Clipper or KClip Zero
Hats Off Jerry... Thanks for the valuable information... The way you explained is very simple... Anybody can understand...
Thanks so much
Nice video ❤
When I route channels it turns the volume way up, when I turn the mixer down the volume evens out but the effect isn't as prominent
If you route a channel to another mixer track then you’ll want to also unroute it from the master mixer track. Otherwise it has 2 outputs, which essentially doubles the signal.
Thank you.
now i know wtf sends are thanks Jerry
Very helpful
Thank you
Very helpful.
Gold 🙏🏾
This is the tutorial I will recommend to anyone asking about busing & sending in FL Studio.
I watched so many damn vids on this topic and you did it the absolute best man! thanks for the help!
A lot of content providers have the knowledge but don't know how to explain things clearly. Also, they don't know how to edit their vids properly. Or another thing... they zoom around too quickly with the mouse for you to see what they're doing.
Great! Thanks! You are one of the best on the game to make serious content about FL Studio, really technical and easy to understand, that’s my opinion. Keep making! 👍
Great presentation
Thank you!
I've been working with one version of Sonar/Cakewalk for almost two decades but I'm really liking what I'm seeing in FL Studio. Showing the wires connecting mixer channels is very cool and easy to follow.
Great video well done... Straight to the point! Realtime application! A B lesson
Thank you for the video,it was very informative for me as a beginner. However, I have a question: How do you route a VST plugin like Output Arcade, which assigns different samples to different keys on the keyboard, without loading the VST multiple times, essentially using one VST instance for different sections (e.g., C-F Drums on Drum Bus, G-H Melody on Melody Bus, etc.)? Is this even possible in FL Studio?
Good numbers for this video... and it's only 3 months old... I'm impressed.
This has to be one of the most useful well explained videos I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen SOOOOOO MANY. Well done man . Thank you .
In FL mobile u can't find those thing how can I do it
I think there is a way around doing almost everything in fl Mobile it's just a little different.
This video was definitely a zen Kai boost, easy to understand and direct and to the point.
Jerry nice video bro, i couldn´t look for any video in FL that explains this so clean. Greetings from Argentina
Could you do another for vocals? I’m trying to save CPU 😭
Great stuff man! I haven’t used FL since it was called Fruity Loops and it’s definitely changed a lot! I’m excited to dig in and thankful I found your channel.
only thing i’m confused about is, for vocals when we want to add reverb / delay, do we keep the green circle at 100% wet and just control it with the volume knob ?
Can't you just change the mix level of the plugin by effects?
Yeah but then any plugin loaded after would be applied to both the reverb and the vocal. If you separate the reverb from the vocal, you can process them separately. For example, if you wanted to add distortion or phasing to the reverb itself - you wouldn’t be able to because the distortion and phasing would also affect the main vocal.
@mixwithjerry oh okay that sounds very useful thank you
Thanks for all the solid information. Great work
Great videos. Can you send audio from a mixer channel to an external stereo pair on your soundcard or can it only be routed to Master 2 bus or another stereo mixer track? Are there ways to get audio out of FL Studio besides the Master bus?
Yes there is a way. Un-route it from the master. Then on the bottom right of the mixer there is a dropdown box where you can select your external outputs. Then if you need to route it back into FL Studio you would select an open mixer track and in the top right there is a dropdown for external inputs.
@@mixwithjerry Nice, thank you
@@mixwithjerry Thanks again for interacting with the comments here. Do you think Image Line will consider a delay compensated external insert, or upping the mixer channel count from 125? Kind of creating a more mixer-friendly environment for FLstudio?
Very useful. Thanx!
Damn bro. This is life changing
Exactly when I needed 🔥thanks jerry, was really confused about it
Glad it helped you out! 🙏🏼
O brigado pela essa aula, Brazilians are grateful.
all videos helpfull sir thanku sirr
Great video, subscribed
super helpful. Thanks!
Very well explained. Thx mate
My God bro you too good for this 😂😂🎉🎉🎉❤❤
I'm confused about "sending a copy". I've been utilizing send tracks as of late and I notice that whenever I send my vocal tracks audio over to my send channel that has
reverb on it, my vocals are now almost TWICE as loud as they would've been without routing the vocals over to the reverb channel. Is this normal? I also notice that with
my vocals that I sent to a channel that has reverb, that the vocal channel STILL shows it's linked to my master channel within FL. Is this why it's suddenly twice as loud?
Should I only route my vocals over to the SEND section and then have the SEND section returning to the master? Hopefully everything I just said makes sense? Argghh!
Make sure to have your reverb channel low, also make sure the reverb plugin is 100% wet and 0% dry
A good teacher & well explained
Okay, let's say I have 10 different channels with vocals on them and I want to apply pitch correction on them using bus. After doing it, can I still add different effects on individual mixer channels, or I have to create another mixer channel so all others effects I want to apply would go there?
So if you were wanting to apply the same exact AutoTune settings to each of those vocals then yes, you could route them to a bus with the AutoTune plugin on it. The problem with that is if those vocals are coming from different artists who all aren't as in tune vocally. You wouldn't be able to adjust the AutoTune as necessary for each vocalists, but if it were the same artist for all of those takes you could forsure get away with the bus method. You can still add the individual effects on the mixer channels themselves. However, if you had any of those effects being applied exactly the same to each vocal - you could also throw that effect on the AutoTune bus. Hope that helps.
YOU'RE VERY GOOD AT THAT!!
Hey Jerry, I love your videos and learn a lot from them. I just wanted to ask if you could please make a video on how to mix prominent and audible doubles because whenever I mix doubles, it doesn't sound good. Please consider making a video about this. Thanks!
This might help.
