    Nice job but I loved your sevron wall. I did go and watch the video when you did it. It was fantastic to watch using the stencil. You did that about a year ago and now a new wall. Wow. I do understand you think was not matching with your kitchen backsplash but for me I would of rather change the blackspash (when you were doing it) for a different design to fit with the sevron wall. But that is me. You have to be happy in your own home.
    Are you going to put a picture on the wall?

    Gotta say, that herringbone wall is blinding. It's almost 3D. I have eye issues so I have difficulty with it. I'm glad you got rid of it. Much prefer the simpler version. You are the same height as I am. We are vertically challenged. Where are your safety goggles little missy? Remember, safety first. Excellent job. I like it. An idea for my next home. Want single floor living. Target date, summer of 2021.

    I took a basic carpentry class with my husband through our local vocational school a couple of years ago. Lol, my hubby got me several tools then. Makita drill and power driver, speed square, safety glasses, hammer, box cutter, etc. He asked me what hobbies I wanted to do now that I am retired. I told him I wanted to learn to do cabinet making and bowl turning. He got me a Kreg pocket hole jig system for Christmas!! Lol, i have a lot of tools to learn to use. As soon as I recover from Covid 19, we will be using the kreg system to make a movable worktable for the garage for all the projects that I want to make. First up, custom pullout trays for all the base cabinets in our kitchen!

    How did you do the staircase and the baseboards? I did not quit understand the outlets of cutting them out. Great video!!!!

    • @designedtothenines
      @designedtothenines  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just measure the dimensions from the floor and the edge of the wall and make the cuts accordingly. As far as the staircase. I took a piece and mad a mark at the top of the angle and the bottom of the angle and connected them with something straight and made the cut.

    Hi and GIRLPOWER!!! I am a widow and my husband could build anything and everything- so I learned a lot from watching him and being his little "helper" haha... I am redoing an older home I have since I HAD to downsize after he passed. I simply had no choice. So now I am going through every TH-cam channel that I KNOW I will use and I have subscribed to your channel Jessica because you are so easy to listen to (believe it or not- that is a requirement) and you keep things simple yet very informative. You don't say "ya'll" after every other word and I am from the south. I hear it. I don't mind it- but not every other word because the speaker thinks.... well, in my opinion they aren't thinking at all! Paula Deen did well with doing it- after that, she is mostly gone now but she didn't take YA'LL with her!!! I just can't do it... You are an awesome speaker and I look forward to learning bunches from you and rebuilding this poor old house. Thank you!

    I love the wall you did. I never would of thought of using masonite to cover the textured wall. Awesome idea! And I was so thankful that you showed how to hook and unhook the compressor hose. I wish more people would do that when doing their DYI video's. Also to show how to use the power tools. I think if more women saw how easy power tools are to use then they would be more inclined to use them. I have a ton of power tools that I don't know how to use. But I'm willing to learn. Thank you for showing us all a new way to do a Board and Batten wall.

    Great job Natalie! You really lady handled that masonite! I always get empowered by watching other women actually do diy projects (unlike some of the TV shows where it's mostly fake) I really enjoy your channel. I've been eyeing a nail gun and compressor for a while now. In the meantime I'm going to be learning how to use the Kreg Jig I've had for several years now...

    Love it Natalee! I'm wanting to do this in my hallway. I love that you used the masonite, what were the other boards you used?? Did I miss that? Sorry if I did.
    Thanks for doing this series it's ONE of my absolute favorites. I started building and DIYing last December when my hubby bought my power tools, instead of the iPad he wanted to buy me. He thought it would be a waste of money. Now he says I wish I would have bought these for you 27 years ago when we got married! These have been an investment. I love to do new projects so I can get a new tool!!! God bless you! I love your channel and your projects!!❤😘🛠🔨🔩🔧Keep them coming!!

      Awesome! I love to hear this. The other boards are just regular flat molding you can get pretty much any home-improvement store. I think I picked mine up at Lowe’s this time. I used mostly 3 inch wide but the top cap I believe was 4 inches and the bottom I believe was 6. Hope that helps!

      @@designedtothenines My husband and I flipped houses and we couldn't always afford help, so... I'm very interested n learning more about lighting. I've watched these very expensive electricians fiddle around for 15 minutes and install a new ceiling light. It can't be that hard, so that will be very helpful. I hate harsh overhead lighting in the bathroom, and I'm trying to figure out how to split the wires and fish them through the walls so I can put in pretty sconces. Love your content!

      I would hate to add nail holes. Lol. Maybe command strips or maybe hanging from the upper rail?

    • @designedtothenines
      @designedtothenines  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know! That’s kind of my dilemma but I figure I can always patch and sand if I need to. My mirror is much too heavy for command strips unfortunately.

    I love seeing more women using power tools! As a carpenter's daughter I was raised on a construction site so I learned at a early age. My craft tools definitely include power tools, one of my favorites is an air carving tool, works on wood, glass, metal, leather and more. Board and batten is a project I have planned for our master bedroom. Our house itself was a DIY many years ago.
