I feel like if I had to suffer the abuse that she went through by consort Jia I would have been looking for revenge too and would have chosen to go with his majesty instead of being granted a marriage. I also feel like consort Yu made her life harder for no reason by telling all the consorts she was a seductive person when really it was the emperor that took interest in her for that moment. I don’t think ling yunche did enough to try and save yanwan or see her. Like yeah she is a cunning person but I feel like in that atmosphere of the forbidden palace, her greedy mom and that eunuch devil on her shoulder she became corrupt with ambition. Which resulted in her doing evil deeds.

That's not true, she was offered marriage to her boyfriend the Imperial guard Ling by Consort Xian Ruyi but turn it down as you saw from this clip. She chose staus and wealth over love so she deserved whatever she got in the harem. She later drugged and tried to seduce Guard Ling to get pregnant but failed. I don't feel sorry for her because she too greedy, ambitious and evil.

Because she's evil. It'd be one thing if she simply explained to her boyfriend that, despite her love, she had to get real power to avoid being tortured again. I doubt anyone would have a serious problem with that. But instead, she basically tells her loving boyfriend that he's a broke bitch who can't do shit for her and she's getting her a real man. Like...why? There was no need for her to be no cruel to someone who loved her.
And that was just the beginning. She is extremely underhanded, killing kids and other wives to get what she wants. She even tried drugging and raping her ex to get pregnant and pretend it was the emperor's baby. Regardless of what anyone else did to her, he never hurt her. There's no excuse for how she treated him. That's why everyone hates her. She was easy to feel sorry for in the beginning, but as time went on she became evil.

Which is a wonder that Ruyi doesn't seem to have that kind of spirit and just wants to live with the guy she loves - even if she has to share him. Wow hadn't seen this part so I didn't know but this kind of changes some part of how I felt about Wei. I still hate her and she was an evil snake who killed a lot of people or threw them down the river for her own ambitions, but she probably won't have ended up so bad or this won't have started if not for the asshole eunch looking to make a name for himself in the palace by using a girl who he knew would get the attention of the emperor. He kind of seems like the cause of a ton of the drama's starting in the first place by taking advantage of an abused girl working in servitude. He put all the ideas of her getting further up the latter then just a low-end maid and manipulated her a lot which is interesting considering how conniving and manipulative she was and how she got others to do horrible acts by putting thoughts in their heads or using something of theirs to incriminate them. That being said she was already a pretty conniving woman but this just shows who might have made her a lot worse with the way he manipulated her.
And if Jia hadn't been so horrible to her, too. That is how Jiang Zhong took her crush on the Emperor and used it like this; he used the hatred Jia had bred to convince her to try and climb...
