GUYS. 2 VIRTUOSO BRASS PLAYERS JUST BLEW ME AND EVERYONE ELSE AWAY WITH THEIR MUSICALITY AND STAGGERING VIRTUOSITY. THATS THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD MATTER!!! BRAVO TO YOU BOTH AND THAT MARVELOUS ORCHESTRA THAT WAS ACCOMPANYING YOU.
It's great to hear a contemporary piece that is melodic and interesting. It may be something of a "player's" piece, judging by the couple of negative responses.
Как похоже звучат эти два столь разных по конструкции инструмента! Молодцы и солисты и оркестр. Накарякову давно пора учиться играть джаз. С его то техникой!!
Mr Shilkloper, is the composition accessible and playable? I would be most honored if I could perform this piece with my trumpet player colleague. Best regards Gergely Szűcs
@whatever7x7, corno dude is improvising the middle section, bending, altering tuning etc, but if you can nail the groove as clean as he is in G at 3:15+, then you have a leg to stand on criticizing him. Post your version of it and let us know how it should go.
It's not a corno da caccia (or tromba da caccia/Jägertrompete) since there are valves on it. I don't care what Thein decides to improperly call their instrument. Shilkloper seems to have put a trumpet mouthpiece and leadpipe on a soprano French horn. His mind is pretty open and experimental. I thinks he's great. I always enjoy whatever he does.
A flugel mouthpiece is a cornet mouthpiece or a trumpet mouthpiece with a smaller shank (often with a deeper cup). The point is, it's not a French horn mouthpiece. I don't care what Dotzauer says. If it has valves, it's not a posthorn. Generally, a post horn has a more conical vs. elliptical bell than a French horn, but a French horn now has valves. They're also rotary valves, not keys (like Anton Weidinger's trumpet used for the Haydn). So it's not keyed.
post horn doesn't have french horn mothpiece but flugel or trumpet/cornet like ones... mahler's post horn solo is possible only with rotary piston valve instrument (sorry for my bad english, I don't speak english, "keyed" for me means "with valve", now I understand that "key" in english is haydn's keyed trumped) Neruda concerto is possible only on valved instruments... post-horn has rotary valve...
*@ A. Hirt* ````````````````` Come on dude ! Who gives a shit about your "proper" terminology (?) These dudes (Sergei Nakariakov & Arkady Shilkloper) can play whatever they want to, on whatever they want to, which, I suspect you're not able to do (correct me if I'm wrong). Sergei currently resides in USA where he can play any genre on any instrument he wants, Arkady's got permanent chair with Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra + french horn clinics all over the world + his solo, jazz related performances. If you can play only half of what this two dudes can play, you may consider yourself a lucky one. In short: Shut the fuck up and enjoy the music. Will ya ???
*@ FranzKEYGUIMPET80* ``````````````````````````````````````` You've got that one right *FranzKEYGUIMPET80*...
