Man this machine is awful. I never thought bissells or any bagless can be this awful but knowing bissells and how I deal with them they can. Cheaply made, awful tools, terrible carpet performance not to mention that it's a bagless so it's a nightmare to empty and clean. A shameless machine that belongs in a dumpster on fire.
I just purchased this vacuum. If I had seen this video first I would never have bought it. I am SO glad that I didn’t! I LOVE this vacuum! It is SO POWERFUL!! It digs in deep into my carpet getting all the pet hair and dander! The filter they give you is washable and they give you an extra.
As a vacuum repair tech, you oughta know that rewind mechanisms last longer when you guide the rewinding cord with your hand, rather than just letting it whip back unsupervised.
I saw a Bissell at the Airbnb house our family rented in San Diego last year. Good place for a cheapo. Also got a really basic Bissell bagless upright a few years ago from a friend's house when she passed. Cleaned it up used it a few times then donated it as the filters had to be clean after every use. A friend was moving offered to give the same vac as he knows I'm into vacuums and I was HECK no you keep it.
I’m sorry but this really reminds me of those bad infomercials where they try and make the “subpar” machine look as bad as possible. I don’t disagree that there are countless better options but if you actually take care of it, it can last just like most every other machine.
Performance Reviews couldn’t agree more but you can certainly keep this thing going longer than 2 years if you know how to maintain it. I guess this kind of vacuum isn’t being marketed to the kind of customer who watches these video though. This is a vacuum for a customer who will never maintain their vacuum and it will kill over in a couple years. At the end of the day though you aren’t going to find a much better option for a new vacuum at this price point. I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole over something like my Miele but for the price, it really isn’t a bad choice.
I love the hate this video gets, but the reality is it's just not a good vacuum. Mine lasted 3 years before it failed to pick up a scented flea treatment from the carpet. I got a Sebo and for the first time in 3 years my carpets and rugs are actually clean. That treatment? I can get down and smell the floor and there isn't even a hint of the scented treatment powder. It also removed years of ground in cat litter from one spot in my carpet, like fully removed, combing through the base of the carpet I can't find any litter anywhere, and my rugs look like new. As a bonus, the design is lovely and I had another crappy bare floor vacuum since the Bissell would've scratched my hard wood, and I got to throw that one away because the Sebo does the job far better than it ever did.
Just ordered this from amazon, lol... you only ran about 12 passes w the Bissel and double that of the Henry... shouldn’t you run about 10 passes (at least?) to clean the rug? Hope I like mine, replacing an old bagged ORECK which isn’t made anymore...$100 should last me a few years at least
This would be my current budget recommendation. Check the description for latest pricing it often goes on sale both on Amazon and directly from Hoover th-cam.com/video/YgLmDqbgIeo/w-d-xo.html
I got my Bissell (2316) on sale for 60 bucks. I used 4 times on carpet. The belt melted on my brush roller. Went to go buy a new roller. Weeeeellll they are all sold out online. So I'm screwed. Now I'm trying to find something that will last on a budget for dog hair.
I would contact Bissell 1 800 number and hold them responsible. Here are some good options for you. th-cam.com/play/PLiENBcs2au1ZRWI-gAi27BijYNHvbXpow.html
@@PerformanceReviews Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna give them a call and see what they can do for me. I won't hold my breath though. I have been following your channel for about a year and I kinda knew what I was getting myself into, but I couldn't pass on the deal. I will check out your videos.
Bissell has a horrible reputation and has makes horrible products for decades. It's an honest review of a bad product made by a less than reputable manufacturer.
I'm so glad I watched your video before purchasing this! Can you please suggest an upright that is not too hard to use on my new short but plush carpet (my current hoover is exhausting to push!) Perhaps with retractable cord? I was considering a self-propelled... any opinion on that feature? Thanks for sharing your expertise!
I never realized carpets can shed and Iam very familiar with vacuuming. I bought a area rug from Walmart and I’ve noticed after a couple days of not vacuuming it I do find lots of little fibers everywhere
This is the kind of vacuum you'd only be satisfied with if you found it at a thrift store for under $20. Otherwise, it's just hard to stomach. I understand the need for budget vacuums in today's market, but if you're gonna go that route, Bissell's own Powerforce Bagged goes for half the cost of this thing at Walmart. After you upgrade it with HEPA bags, that Powerforce filters decently and even performs better than this POS.
@@ItsthatRedhead798 I get my vacuums at the Dumpster Emporium. I just trash picked a Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet (lime green w/no rewind) model 2252 today. It's missing the attachments and the lower cord wrap, but it runs and spins, and appears to be not used much as it's not scuffed up very much. After I clean it, I'll make a video on it, as well as finally getting around to vlogging my model 2987 (next paragraph). This will go well with my Bissell TurboClean Powerbrush Pet model 2987 (also lime green). I trash picked that about two months ago. It looks brand new and works fine! I don't know why it was trashed. It does need frequent refilling of the clean water container. But heck, even without detergent, it cleans my carpet pretty well with hot water alone, or even with cold water. Of course, my carpet is also 20 years old.
21:16 do the same test wit the mele or henry and see if it can spin the turbine on the power paw with no air flow. how is a air spun system work if you block it off ? you have to use it lightly not smushed in
It appears you purposely held the bag less one high up when dumping it in what appears like a pretty empty trash can, come on lol! Of course the wind will catch it like a tornado if you do that.
Hmmm I wonder why the turbo brush isn’t working? Hmm maybe because you shoving it into the carpet and jamming it down causing it to stop. It works off suction, if you cut the suction thru the turbo brush of course it’s gonna stop spinning. No one in their right mind uses that much brute force with a turbo brush. Nor do the average person vacuum that much hair or debris. Of course it’s not gonna work the way you want it because your making the test for it. Maybe show a real review next time. I’ve owned plenty of vacuums and Bissells are great for the money. And nor should you be expecting hepa filtration or even dyson power with these cheaper vacuums. Use common sense people. A vacuum that’s $80 is gonna perform like it’s $80. A $400 vacuum is gonna perform like a $400 vacuum should. Like buying fake designer stuff and expecting it to be identical to the real deal. 👍🏻
It goes a little deeper than that. I have an explanation here the turbo doesn't work properly but altitude. It's well documented about this vacuum and many others. There are certain TH-cam channels that claim this does work as well as $400 vacuum. Here's the video going into detail about the turbo tool. th-cam.com/video/kSC1clciW5M/w-d-xo.html
What a horrendous machine! Not even worth $50. Terrible build quality and useless tools. I'm sure it's not sealed system so it's polluting the air too. 😕
Performance Reviews I have this vacuum at work and it does way better then the ones other people use it picks up more. Then what there vacuums can pick up. And of course it won’t work on hard floors it is mainly for pet use. I like this vacuum everyone at my job wanna get one

It's not designed to last 20 or 30 years like other machines. A couple years Max.

What vacuum do you recommend for carpet? Not too expensive
Are you telling me you're not a stay at home mom i can't believe it

Believe me most people dilike bagless machines if given the choice.
I have a electrolux 2100 it still runs decently. Would you want to buy it?
I would post that for sale on vacuum land
Oh you bought my good old Target for my target practice good target practice vacuum

Should last you about a year or so before needing replacement. Oreck is definitely still in business and making bagged vacuums.
Performance Reviews should I return it then?
I did it's a pretty terrible machine. Especially compared to the Hoover in the same price point

Seems like a weed whacker with that brush roll on the carpeting. Kind of tearing at it but not getting deep in the pile.
You should try out the bag version the Bissell powerlifter bagged pet
But does it suck?

This is completely off topic but it’s interesting that lots of the outlets in your house are sideways.
I think all of my outlets in my house are portrait orientation. The outlets in my shop are landscape orientation. Interesting observation 👍
But will it blow a zero?
Nope
Fantastic
This one is actually a power lifter
Interesting there's tons of great reviews on the Bissell 2254......like incredibly great for the money. Hard to see who's telling the truth.
Look at the price and where it is made should tell you everything.
You may want to invest in a lavalier microphone. The camera has trouble picking up your voice at times.
Check out our patreon page happy to do that
