Democracy Now! is in Chicago for the 2024 Democratic National Convention, where protesters have actions planned throughout the week. The demonstrations kicked off on Sunday, on the eve of the convention, with the March for Bodies Outside Unjust Laws, which was organized by a coalition of several different activist groups to demand action on reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights and an end to the war on Gaza. We hear from protesters on the ground who say they will withhold their votes in the presidential election until the Democratic Party commits to reversing the Biden administration's policy of "warmongering."

That's an extremely loose tie between Gaza and abortion, but it does illustrate the overarching narrative the Left paints -- that of the oppressor (typically white, patriarchal, and culturally conservative -- or 'backward', 'regressive' as they might think of it) versus the dispossessed and the weak downtrodden (typically brown and badly-off). The issue with this and with the Queers for Palestine movement writ large is that the narrative is insanely low-resolution: the downtrodden in this case are headed by a regime (Hamas) that is morally rotten to its damn core and which doesn't even agree with the sexual libertarian ideals espoused by the abortionists and QfP folks.

Blue no matter who. Fall in line. Eat table scraps- that is your plan. The green party is the only political part in America advocating for ranked choice voting. Spoiler effect only takes place in swing states. Plus, many nonvoters are only engaged by non-corporate candidates so it is presumptuous to assume that they would have ever voted for the democrats to begin with. 50% + / - of people consistently don't vote every single election.
