David Hobson & Cheryl Barker - "Sono andati?" LA BOHÈME (Puccini) 1990

Here is a rare recording from Opening Night of the Baz Luhrmann production of Puccini's LA BOHÈME. The production represented a breakthrough moment for both David Hobson and Cheryl Barker, who played Rodolfo and Mimì, and would go on to become two of Australia’s most well-loved opera stars - heard here in the final scene of the opera. The conductor is Graeme Jenkins in this performance from July 28th, 1990.

I recall the demise of my late, lamented video tape of this opera. It is possible that I played it to death, so much did I love it. Thank you for bringing us this beautiful aria.
