Fantastic video Martin... I've had to go and buy one now. I remember on the estate where I grew up my friend had one and I was so jealous. So 50+ years later Im treating myself. At the end as you had your completed Enterprise with the starry background... I found myself whistling the theme tune. Live long and prosper 🖖

I just picked up one of these recently myself. I'm fortunate the only thing missing are the torpedoes though the plastic pieces are a bit faded.
Tempted to try dying them to restore the colour, can't really get much worse.
I'll definitely be refering to this video for tips. Already took apart the saucer for a look and when puttibg it back together it was a bit loose. Only realised watching this there are 2 washers. The second one had come out and I hadn't even noticed it. Luckily I found it by my feet.
Always wanted to try a restoration and can"t think of a better toy to start with. Now to hunt down a Klingon ship for the next one once this is done.

I was never a big fan of the sci-fi stuff on tv but what a cool model. I don't ever remember seeing one fire a rocket; I think they all got lost pretty quickly, like the James Bond Aston and Fab1. I'm sure your efforts to split the engines will be appreciated by anyone who restores one of these in the future; it looked kinda tricky, but easy when you know how - clever design.
The "final frontier" at the end, with the stars, was a brilliant touch, great way to show it off. 👌

Aye laddie you're a miracle worker worthy of one Montgomery Scott himself and earned your engineering red shirt on this one.
Floppy and or drooping nacelle syndrome has been something that plagued Constitution class starship builders as long as there's been models of the original through the refit Enterprise.
The radar dish is interchangeably either the sensor or deflector dish BTW.

GGGGGG day Martin now that was out of this world by taking that apart you've gone where no man has gone before. I did a plastic air fix model kit of it years ago and had it hanging on fishing line in my bedroom when I was a kid. As you may have guest I'm a syfi nerd my wife bought me one of those star trek communicators that blue tooth with my mobile phone and I can make calls with it. It makes all the noises and has several pre recorded voices of Kirk and Spock. Like you say it's all about the fun. My wife's a good sport she puts up with my musical equipment ,guitars, cars, collectable toys, Alec the dalek and most of all me so it looks like I found a good-en. Stay safe mate and live long and prosper🖖and I'll catch you on the next exciting episode same time same channel.👍

( I managed to stab myself with a small nail trying to unblock my super glue nozzle again yesterday🤦🏻‍♂️😂) I loved your end bit of the video cruising around the stars, it looked so realistic especially when the moon shon down lighting up the Enterprise!👌👍😊 A great informative and very enjoyable video and another stunning restoration !👌👍😊

That was something different Martin, it turned out really well, very enjoyable, and great commentary tool. Can I ask you about paint again please? Today you said you used Halfords Suzuki white paint............did you also use Halfords primer? I know you often buy your spray paint from The Range, also some colours from The Pound Shop. Do you ever mix them, eg. use The Range primer, then Halfords top coat, or are they not compatible? Sorry if that sounds like a daft question, I'm about to start my first restoration shortly. Also, have you used etching primer, and what is your opinion of it? Looking forward to your next video, take care and stay safe. Very Best Wishes. Peter.
