A weak spark or just slightly out of time spark from a bad plug or coil can trigger the P0420 and still have no misfires or other codes. Do not assume your P0420 means there is actually anything wrong with your cat.
First off if you live in New York or California you CANNOT buy a catalytic converter online. You will have to get someone out of your state to buy it for you and ship it to you privately. Second, the hack to the P0420 is to add a spacer to the O2 sensor. I put a new catalytic converter and O2 and still got the P0420. Funny thing is when I had a bank #2 lean it was because the flex pipe was leaking. I did not have a P0420. After the new parts the lean code went away and the 0420 appeared

With how the old converter looked in this video example. Isn't it worthwhile to try cleaning it first. It was just a bit clogged, that would save a lot of money I assume.
420 code can be a bit deceptive. The 2001 Rav4 I had threw the 420 code. It would die on the road. I took it in to a shop and they told me to replace converter. I put in a new one and all sensors and it died on the road again. I took it back to the shop and left it for a week. They drove it a little and said it was okay. I told them "run parts with it or take it on the interstate" They called me back with a "hey it died on us too". As a last ditch effort hey pulled a used cam sensor off a junker and it ran another 6 months. It died on me and I put in another cam sensor and it was still running when I sold it.
Hi i have a diesel car and it completed 8000 km It has one issue if i left my car for 3-4 days and started on 5th day an irregular loud noise is comming for 3-4 seconds and comming to normal sound after 4 seconds im not so confident on service center pls suggest me as per the your experience if u noticed above mentioned problem

I made a complete tune up and buy a catalic cleaner. The temperure of catalic is 100 grade more before catalic and change inside with a camare and is clean inside in the upper side. It run perfect. The light turn off and three days later come on but the scaner said than was the bank 2 sensor 1. I buy a original one and change. Seven days later come on the code again (be off 10 data). Some technic said than is the catalic and other said is the computer. What is your opinion. Thanks a lote.

I got the code after new cat converter was installed with new sensors, I added sea foam half can into full tank. 🤦♂️ could it be to rich in the gas?

Got a P0420 on my 2K Dodge Dakota 4.7, but everything 2:29 is fine. O2 have been replaced.
