Searching Through Random Stamps

- A couple of videos ago we had a stack of stamps left over so we look at those along with a small album. I always enjoy hunting through random stamps. You never know for sure what you will find. I hope you enjoyed searching with me!

Gotta love the search! It is great seeing all the stamps you go through and discuss. Nice set of stamps - fun.

@@KylesStamps Good morning! It sure is a shame, the photo album that is. When I was introduced to collecting around 7 or 8, one summer I worked doing odd jobs to get a stamp album. They weren't cheap then just as now. I WAS ALWAYS JUST SHY OF WHAT I NEEDED. Lol My mom had several empty photo albums. She saw how frustrated I got and gave me one. COOL! I loaded it up! The thing was a couple months later I wanted to share my collection with a friend, I couldn't pull them out. (that's when I decided to go to the library and learn about Philately. HARD LESSON LEARNED VERY EARLY. LOL!

The stamp on the right is Princess Anne, Elizabeth's sister. The two on top at 22:20 are actually cutouts from Postal Cards. If the blue stamp from Saudi Arabia at 28:05 is unused and you are not interested I would be. Yes China can be expensive but wait until you get to Russia. Russia has so many stamps. Russia is what I am working on now. You have an invasion of flying insects? Time to call out the SWAT team! The watermark on the Irish stamp is an "e" for Eire (Ireland). You can tell that the stamp at 41:04 is not Finland because Finnish does not use the Cyrillic alphabet. Saar was transferred so many times between France and Germany that it is hard to keep track. I have always liked the Costa Rica Official stamps. As for the stamps at 58:05 in the 40's Belgium reduced the postal rate by 10%. Instead of printing a new denomination they just surcharged them -10%. Most of these were surcharged locally so there are many different surcharge types and are not listed in Scott. They are known as the Van Acker surcharges. Junk flying over the Great Wall of China? Lol! The man on the French stamp is Hermes and he is carrying a Caduseus. Yes the cancellation on the French stamp is a precancel. The word "Swastika" on the German page would be referring to the watermark. The next page says "Network" which would also be referring to a watermark. A puppet state is a state set up to appear as an independent country but is really controlled by another. I love Mexican food also!! On the Peruvian stamp "Ley" means Law in Spanish but I am not sure what it was used for.

You are totally right, these are French precancels. 1:07:54 The swastica of these Hindenburg definitives is in the watermark. 1:09:38 Nope, it´s the eagle of the Weimar Republic. 1:24:42 In my opinion, this China Large Dragon is genuine. I have been a dealer on Asian stamps in the 1980s/90s, especially China. Greets from GER, U.

those pages are self adhesive for photos only. it's not wise to use them as for stamps or even photos. it's not acid free by the way.

I have watched all your videos. Yeah...please keep working on your microphone issue. I like the content, but the breathing/ smacking of lips is a deterrent for me. I watch tons of TH-cam videos and am baffled on why yours is excruciatingly loud. I find myself (out loud) declaring..."Shit! Kyle! Turn it down! " b4 the video starts.
There are too few decent stamp channels. Grahm Beck just threw in the towel:( Ted talks stamps is clearly more preoccupied with living in Portugal. Mallard stamps was great...then he moved/ had a kid and *poof* Our Dad's stamps is almost not worth the wait any longer. Why the APS can't come up with better videos is a mystery...and don't get me started on the hours of my life I've wasted, waiting for octogenarians to figure out zoom videos with their stamp clubs. Ack! I really liked the videos u did that were researched/ informative. Hope to see more of that.

P.S. I found a totally nude woman on a stamp and immediately put it in an envelope labeled "Kyle" since (I'm assuming u still have your "nude stamp collection". You have so many other stamps...I don't know what I have that I could send that u would want. When I found the Chinese airmail stamps you did a video on and had a hard time with, I was very appreciative of the info you shared about the details to look for. I collect worldwide up until 1959 (Scott albums) and US up til 1980. SO many empty spaces!
I belong to 2 stamp clubs in WI. Love the cheap auctions, but I'm going to have to live to be 500 and a millionaire b4 I fill a tiny percent of these pages.

You should do some research on the problem facing the USPS from counterfeits printed in China for new issues. I have been finding counterfeit sellers on TH-cam and having a great time turning them in the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
Yeah, you do need to remove stamps from the wrapping provided by the USPS......not archival safe indeed ;-)
