2024 ASCEND Day 3 META 14 Accelerating Space Innovation SDA’s Journey and Roadmap

The Space Development Agency (SDA) is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. In this session, Bryan Bender, Vice President, Communications Strategy, Strategic Marketing Innovations, Inc., asked SDA Director Derek Tournear about the current status of SDA’s programs and its future strategy. Through the context of SDA’s ongoing initiatives, they discussed the agency’s collaboration approach with commercial companies, the cultural changes necessary to accelerate acquisition processes, and some of the continued challenges the agency is facing.
