just as a note, because this can be a culture shock to people outside of South Africa - when he says coloured people, he is specifically referring to mixed race people from South Africa, because that is what we call ourselves here and its a normal thing we say in everyday conversations, but in the US it might come across as a derogatory term
An excellent point. Terms like that mean different things to different people in different places. Something that's offensive in one country might not be such a big deal in another.
@@andyb1653 It's really more of an umbrella term here, it gets even more confusing to non-RSA people when they're over here and witness people of different racial backgrounds being called "coloured" and everyone is fine with it lol
Speaking as a "colored" American, for us, it's like the **other word**. We MIGHT use it occasionally among ourselves to each other, but that'd be more exception than rule and we're far more likely to use the **other** one LOL. If we know it's part of your culture--and particularly if you're mixed also, most of us wouldnt twitch if we heard you say it. anyone else, expect a potential ass-kicking. me personally, god FORBID you ever use the M word around or to me. I'm a fluffy bunny of a person...until I'm not. I have no sense of humor about that one. from ANYONE.
I think he did this concert in south Africa, for reference, when he says coloured people he means mixed race people like himself and that's how they are referred as in south Africa according to the racial caste system, and also the stereotype of them being more violent and aggressive.
Indian villain that stood out in a movie was Amrish Puri, who played Mola Ram in the second Indiana Jones movie. He was the most terrifying of the Indiana Jones villains.
This is from one of his earliest shows, from somewhere around 2009/2010 when he was still in South Africa...so he's referring specifically to South African Indians
I discovered Trevor Noah by chance here on TH-cam and was blown away by his talent and started bingewatching his videos. He is often telling stories of his life as well and I would highly recommend to read his book "Born a crime" where he tells his life story of being born mixed race (hence the title born a crime) in South Africa in the middle of Apartheid. I never enjoyed a non fiction book more.
He speaks from the perspective of the situation in South Africa. During apartheid, the people were divided into different groups, black = African ancestry. Coulerd= mix between black and white. White = Europen ancestry.
Just subscribed today and I dont regret. You guys had a great work-rate today. I look forward to your channel hitting 100k subscribers soon, coz I like to witness growth. Peace & love from Kenya, East Africa.
Love you guys. The next scariest villains have to be us brits. So many American movies have the bad guys played by british actors. I'm not sure what that says about the British. 😂♥️
Nothing. If there is one group of people Abeyance ARE NOT scared of, it's the a British. Americabs choose Brits as villains because Brits are better actors.
Related point of data: when Tom Ellis got the lead role of Lucifer, he tried putting on an American accent, but realized he sounded like a douche. So he reverted to a slightly more posh version of his native English accent, and immediately he could get away with saying awful things while still being charming 😂
😂 Rajesh says:-I vill proceed to make whoole vorld go kabooom . Hahaha Trevor is just so funny !! 😂😂😂. Okay how much you have there. how much ??... Typical of Indian to negotiate ,,, 🤣🤣🤣
South Africa is the only country that has more Indians outside of India, so we as a fact that based on South African Indians that they are soft spoken and smooth talkers.
I really love watching your videos because you both are funny but the woman is super super beautiful super beautiful and funny as well she dresses perfect classy and it's always super beautiful in all the videos I would like to know and for you both to explain what is your relationships because that woman in your videos is super readable beautiful beautiful
I grew up in India. Born and raised in France, but some of that ... Was in India. Left just before Indira was murdered. 1985 as I remenber. I am Indian. At least in Puducherry's terms. Loved the people, the culture and the attention we got back then. P.S.: My former house is now a restaurant. I can't belive it.
South Africa, has 3 main racial groups, blacks, whites, and Indians, that came from the sub-continent in large numbers, so Trevor, had plenty of contact with all the different groups.
Yeah the Indian men who phone me offering to fix my computer, or from Amazon, or Microsoft, or tell me I have 'wiruses' and hackers on my computer, *never* call themselves by Indian names, they always use a really fake sounding Western name like 'David James, or James David. They always want me to pay with google play cards. They get really upset when I swear at them in Hindi 😆
Star Trek came the closest. Khan Noonien Singh of Wrath of Khan is written as Sikh, but neither Ricardo Montalbán or Benedict Cumberbatch reflected that very well.
No Indian villains? How about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I was scared. I know Ricardo montalban was not indian, but he played one on Star trek. I was pretty terrified.
I LIKE Indians. I did business in Bombay (excuse me: Mumbai) and also lived in Singapore and had many contacts with the Indian Business leaders. Also, in the USA I worked for TWO Indian bosses and worked with several Indian Engineers. HIGHTLY educated people. And I've NEVER come across one who was mean..or was unlikeable. Great people! But in saying all of that, I think the Indian accent is just too much to pass on..without trying to copy it. And Trevor does a GREAT job of doing that.
It's a decent set, but didn't you guys feel like he needed a little more work with the accents? They sounded a little wrong, but I'm American and may not be able to tell.
Nop he did the eccent from original indian from India and the eccent from Indians who are born in South Africa, india is the factory than South Africa is the depo meaning we have more Indians in South Africa than other countries outside India
The Indian accent from the robbery joke is how Indians from South Africa sound like
From Chatsworth or Phoenix
I thought so too
Exactly 🤣🤣🤣
No lies detected in your comment. You are spot on pal.
True, you would think that only in KZN, but even in the North West Province they sound that way

Yes colored people is extremely offensive, you have to say people of color because 🤡 🌎

Oh yeah. He always played the Villian in Hindi movies.
Kabir Bedi played a villain in a James Bond movie: Octopussy.

Even Bollywood movies that I have watched attest to that "Is it on?"😂😂😂😂, an Indian villain will totally ask that funny question
"I can help you with your computer" the took me out😂😂😂

Indians are good people. It's good to not be seen as a villain. Many wonderful Indians living here in Brampton, ON, Canada.
Star Trek came the closest. Khan Noonien Singh of Wrath of Khan is written as Sikh, but neither Ricardo Montalbán or Benedict Cumberbatch reflected that very well.
The weird thing about Indians and their accent, it never changes. In Uganda we have had them for so many generations but they still sound the same.
I'm happy you enjoyed it but if u were to look at it in south african perspective Indians r Shop owners, so it was so funny
Omg you're soo intellectual beautiful as long as physically
He loves all nationalities
Ok, how much you got?

He havent seen gangs of waseypur
Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias does a joke why Indian people aren't good bank robbers, you guys should look it up

Indiana Jones Temple of Doom ... thats a villian
What about an Indian villain from a movie that people actually watch?
