If you'd compare the voice acting to DW7, DW9 makes you feel as if someone just threw the script at them and told them to read. DW7 so realistic. Especially when the news of Guan Yu's death reached the castle. You can feel the pain and sadness. What a shame what they did to the game.
When you come to think of it, none of these characters belonged to Jin (except for Jia Chong and maybe Xin Xianying). They were either dead or killed before Jin was found. So in future DWs, I hope they add Yang Hu, Du Yu, Wei Guan, Wang Jun, and especially the founder of Jin, Sima Yan. And please make Sima Yi look older for God's sake. He looks like Shi and Zhao's brother.

The gameplay, story, character designs, sound, etc. I completely despised 6. 7 is alright but it would be better without all those damn cloned movesets. 8 is good but I am not a big fan of the "Hypothetical" paths. When they announced that 9 is going to be an open world game, I was really intrigued but then ... hahaha ... Everybody runs around the same empty map that allows you to travel from Luo Yang to Chengdu within 2 days lmao.
OR what if they aged the characters throughout the game? Like Sima Yi starts young but by the time he passes he looks older and it's a separate, unlockable costume.
Well, there are characters that are in Wei before the actual founding of the Wei Dynasty. Same with both Wu and Shu. The characters are in the factions because they at one point supported the rise of said faction. The only real outlier to this is Xiahou Ba, as he never really supported the Sima clan. The only reason he is “Jin” is because of the hypotheticals where you can get him to side with them.
I don't know why but when you play cutscene without music it feels like, hey we're play documentary film Take aside the bad voice acting. The ambience, the dialogue without music it feels alive. It most like you're watching a footage at that time.
I’m a fan of Xiahou Dun but I don’t think he would be able to kill Guan Yu all by himself. I thought in real history Wu had defeated the god of war. I wish they would’ve at least made it more convincing of his death like 8 and 7 but I guess that’s too much to ask for.
Hm.. Xiahou Ba was cool, if the game had just gotten the lip syncing right, and if the va had made his voice a tad bit higher that would've been a good scene of him.
I just wanted to check out the graphics. Wtf man they changed all kinds of things. The oldies will always be my favorite. That'd just my opinion though.
