I'm a firm believer in gardening in my PJs. If its extremely cold or hot, I will run out and get things done with no regard to my appearance. A bonnet or scarf is always a part of the ensemble, lol.
he[[o Asia just to inform you on Saturday at 7;13am eight quails hatched they are so cute, I finnaly placed them in the bruder box and they are doing fine except one of them the balance is not, but I believe she is a fighter. thank you so much for inspiring me concerning the quails. question: should I place one of the mothers in the Bruder box just to help with the newborns?
Hello Asia (in my London voice) lol have you ever tried the dry rendering tallow method , with completely no water or salt? I learned that water is unnecessary but if you have to add water during the rendering process to prevent from burning that means your temperature is too high and it should be no more than 225F I do the crockpot method and have a manual thermometer to just stick in and check the temp. Render with the top off to keep moisture out. But definitely keeping at the right temp you don’t have to add water I only dry method 1 time and it’s done check out Mary’s Nest tallow I learned tallow still has a faint smell to it but it dissipates into the skin oh so lovely those wet rendering is so draining so when I tried this method I was like oh my goodness this was soo much better so I did whipped tallow in my kitchen aid! Love your videos as always Have a sweet day!
Girl, I had my two moringa plants inside the house , but I guess bugs were in that soil.I called the termite company thinking termites were in-house because I saw something flying around. When they came no termites ( Thank God). The guy suggested checking my drains for bugs that like hanging out it drains.I did have that problem in one of my bathrooms, but I googled what to do but forgot about forgot the kitchen drains. In the end it was those dang bugs in that soil .I covered those plants and put their butts on my covered porch( I did cut them back) 😅😅😅
Using metric (ml or grams) will make this easier for you. You can weigh how much solid oil you have (e.g. 1 cup) so that in the future you won’t have to melt and then measure. Same thing for the calendula oil.
Hello Asia! Awesome video with your outdoor chores and making your tallow salve! 💖 Love all your videos; keep them coming!👍 Happy🎄 Holidays! Blessings to you and family!🌹 🦋12/17/2024🦋
Hind sight is 20/20. Next time I render beef tallow or lard, I'm going to weigh it as I pour the melted fat in the jar so I know how much I have in each jar. It will make it much easier to formulate soap recipes if I know how much of the fat I have.
Are those broccoli plants lined up in those grow bags down the middle of your garden? They look great! I am starting some from seed and and had to re-seed half of them because not all of them germinated and they seem to row very slowly at first. I just finished the last of my ripe cherry tomatoes in a salad tonight with some Kohlrabi and apple with pecans and blue cheese and was thinking how I am going to miss good fresh tomatoes, so I'm planning on growing some Microdwarfs under my grow lights as soon as possible so I can still have some during the winter. Have you ever grown those?
Hi! The shrooms look a bit dry so probably need moisture. But as always, ck with your seller. All may not be lost. You may be able ro get a second flush from that same block and with the right moisture some of those may still be edible. Also, what kind of worm bins are those? Tks for all you do!
Ok, thank you! I’m going to harvest them tomorrow. They weren’t very big so I thought I needed to let them go a little longer. I appreciate the comment!
no problem, when their caps are round firm and a little moist they are ready, sometimes they don’t get super big just depends on the growing environment. When they curl up they’re over ripened and not at their peak. Definitely not a one size fits all only for oysters.
How fun to raise quail!! Do you let them loose to eat bugs, or would they eat the greens? I really enjoy how you share the day-to-day. Do you also eat quail eggs? Continue having fun & sharing. Happy holidays😂❤!!

Hey! Do you have a link to purchase those cold frames? I need something to garden in during the cold months too 😊
Think they were homemade! Just some wood and an old window on the top.
Hi 👋🏾! Are you asking about the greenhouse? If so, here is the link bit.ly/3Z8JEYP

Hi Asia. What's the name of the watering thingy you used? That would be so useful for me.
Hi 👋🏾! It’s from Petra Tools. www.petratools.com/product/petratools-hd3000-backpack-sprayer
Thank you@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead
Mushrooms are looking beautiful.
Very nice for your first time for sure.😊
Thank you!
I appreciate it! I’m having fun growing them!
try aloe in your recipe?
Late, but I'm here😊
The ones you think are dry are ready to be harvested. The lip of the mushroom shouldn’t curl up. You’re doing great girl they look good!

Your fall garden looks great 😍, may I ask what kinda carrier oil did you use to make your calendula oil?
We have the same 5 days before it drops down at night again.
You just be laughing 😂. I love it .
Too much fun. 🤩
Lol glad you enjoyed!
❤ all that you do😊
Awwww thank you!
Your videos really inspire me. I don’t want any animals lol, but I do want to grow more food, and I’d love to grow some mushrooms.
Take care
Thank you!!
❤👍🏽
Love your videos ❤ I learn so much from you. Can you give the info on the heated gloves?
Thank you! They were a gift. I’m not at home at the moment but when I get back I’ll give you the name of them.
