I really enjoyed the movie. I thought It was obvious that Ainz resurrected her because he was quickly putting away the resurrection item after. Also so happy he did, because Neia was my favorite part of the movie. I really got emotionally invested in her story.
The previous season of the anime actually did reference Neia as the "Faceless". Her stamp of approval on the invasion plan against the Kingdom which confused the Kingdom. They concluded she took over their entire religious order. So she is a big character moving forward. In fact, if memory serves, she even has an open invite to Nazarick which, hell, she may be the only human with that.
You're right that she has the invitation to visit, but it's more like Shizu can visit her because they are friends. However, Nfirea and Enri are on a similar level of friendliness to Nazarick as her. I'll be disappointed if season 5 doesn't involve either them or Neia! Just exploring the elf kingdom and solving their internal disputes is a little underwhelming
The fact it was over 2 hours which was really good. Feels like I watched half a season, and it felt that the movie wanted to represent a normal person's perspective rather than Ainz. As a novel fan this was great for me no much complaints for me other than the fights with Ainz.
If you can't tell that Neia died in the movie, then you we're not paying attention. You clearly see him [Ainz] put away the Staff of Resurrection as she is waking up. Beyond that, people have had four seasons of Madhouse adapting it to know how much they would leave on the cutting room floor. Beyond that you can tell they actually put forth a bit of effort, unlike the C grade work they've previously done
"You clearly see him [Ainz] put away the Staff of Resurrection as she is waking up." I mean people are in a movie cinema so ur not see everything, plus not everyone knows or remembers what a Staff of Resurrection looks like. Not everyone is a hardcore Overlord fan and knows the finer details.
I was most interested in the "Weapon" scene. I can tell that is why they got the R rating. Id say it was done well but i think i would have liked it to drag on a bit more to really sell the horror of it. Plus when we see the "weapon" at the end the movie really does a good job of showing remedios's mind break in the scene, I like the contrast of Ainz just vibing and the horror around him that he allows.
I couldn't see the movie where I am, but I have read the arc. I have no idea when it will be available to watch, but even if they skipped a lot I will still savor every second of it. Neia Baraja and her transformation will be an incredible thing to see. Even if she doesn't get any screen time after this, real fans know how important she is! I really wish that in the future she gets to see Shizu again...
Holy Kingdom arc should have been it's own season...or 2 movies...There is so much stuff skipped, I enjoyed it, but knowing what could have been I'm disapointed
It's the main reason why there's no reinforcement when they destroyed the kingdom in season 4. as explained in the novel, they damaged all the allies of the kingdom so that there will be no reinforcement coming. It also helps the people accept the rule of nazarick making them the "good guys" in the eyes of the people.
Yeah, the quality of the novels have been going down. Alomg the way I feel like it lost something. Also, classic Ainz, goes to sell runic weapons, creates a cult instead. I mean, he went to the empire to gather adventurers and caused it surrender and become a vassal state.
Her dying didn't change her stats, it changed her classes. She was Ranger/Paladin prior to dying, I think she becomes a Ranger/Evangelist(?) after. I think it's cause of an Exp penalty for dying dropping her level and dropping her second class, which inadvertently gives her the option of choosing a new one as she levels up.
@@Espiritu_Analysis it's nothing to be sorry about. I just thought it was a really cool justification for the plot twist and thought to point it out for anyone going through the comments. It wasn't obvious and remember having to reread that section a few times to understand what happened, I doubt most readers noticed.
It was an alright movie that had to compress a lot of two big LN... The mock battle with the maids being short was kinda disappointing. Also given it was the first appearance of Aureole Omega, even if a doppelganger. We who read know, but didn't get to see things we read sadly. Also, sadly, Kugane pretty much gave up on Overlord in my eyes. He reduced the LN count to end dramatically years ago now, and after volume 14, you can tell he is just rushing things when he wrote the Elf Kingdom Arc of 15 & 16. What doesn't help besides is the official English LN are poorly translated with several words being altered compared to any other official source material. That last bit is more of a personal note pick, and not the issue with Kagune wanting to be done with his creation. As a fan who bought the bad official LN up to volume 9 and stopped after that due to the official English translation ticking me off. For example, the Sorcerer Kingdom is called the Darkness Kingdom... Yenpress ticks me off with the unnecessary changes. A worse issue earlier on in the first LN was Albedo speech was altered to be more bland and not the old royal type of speaking. So besides name changes, there were dialogue changes that no other source uses from anime, manga, or unofficial translations. If that has changed with newer prints of the LN, im unaware as I bought them on release. I'd rather read the "unofficial" translations that are way more accurate. Outside my personal rant on said LN translation. I genuinely loved the series until it became apparent that the creator stopped caring. As so many intricate stoylines that were weaved in from LN 1 up to 14 are seemingly being ignored or speed run to some simple resolution, so Kagune can be done with his creation. I say this as Kahune way back and even around early 2019 if I recall was up to have Overlord go on up to possibly 30 volumes for the LN. I can't recall without looking up if the big issues arosed specifically before or just when the lockdowns hit. One thing I know was Kagune couldn't practically work on the series for a few years as he did his work usually at his favorite café. I know that as I did for a bit obsessed slightly on each previous release. Mind in many ways, I can understand him losing interest and / or passion after writing for one specific story over a decade. It just irks me that it is now being rushed and with that lack of prior passion as I see it. I read 15 & 16 once and found it mostly forgettable and just disappointing. For those that enjoyed it, im glad and just saying I sadly couldn't enjoy it...
I've had some feeling of lack in this movie. But the talk at the end between Demiurg and /spoiler/ caught me again :D and suddenly everything has more sense. It was good to see Ainz in action. Graphically I was very surprised, even better than season 4. About gore stuff. Kind of neatly done here but I remember the book being more violent. I need to reread this arc to look what I missed and misunderstood. I won't hesitate to watch it again to see what i missed. I was in cinema day after premiere and man, this movie in PL caught some people. From quick look age 20-30.
I really enjoyed this movie, period. This movie and Godzilla/Kong: The New Empire were the only two films I saw this year in theaters so yes, it was worth it going to the theater. I will try to watch it again this week in JP this time.
Thought u was talking about evil eye at 1st but than I realized you referring to squire Nea Baraja who ends up befriending our gun wielding maid which was awesome. That squires death than resurrection was a bit wholesome & it was quite interesting how she refused ainz reward of resurrecting her parents for reasons I don't remember but all in all gud novel
I liked it but i was a little but dissapointed with how much stuff happened off camera. I was also upset with how quickly neia developed her aimz is justice arc. The pacing very off and many major plot hooks happen without enough set up.
I can't wait for S5. I enjoyed the movie a lot, but i wish it was longer lol i wouldn't mind a 4hr movie :) @4:10 she officially dies in the movie but you have to be knowledgeable about the overlord series AND have fast eyes or be looking at the right spot, you briefly get to see him put away the Want of Resurrection into his robes.
the movie was okay, it did feel like they skipped a lot, like the movie poster shows characters that were on screen for like 3 minutes. Always nice to see anime movies in theater. I hope next seasons comes out soon
Read the light novel of overlord and can say he is right if they did it right it would have been about 3 hours if not 4 hours because of the in between connecting the seasons instead of 2.12 hours in my opinion just make that hole thing season 5 of the anime and we are good I don't care that its out of order. I just want to see it as it was in the light novel not 1 two 1 but closer than 1 two 3 witch was the movie it could have been way better. it was like a teaser for how dark the light novel got. if they went all out it could be all of season 5 witch would be good because it was when overlord really took a shift to a dark anime. Ainz Ooal Gown the way I see it is all the npc's under him mostly have a morally questionable nature and him as there boss has to try and keep them in line without overexerting his authority because there would be a rebellion typically if he did overexert his authority being how there morals are questionable in the end if he did exactly as he wanted to he would lose command over that den of snakes so he's put in a tight spot where he has to control things without looking like he is controlling things from his perspective.
The elf arc can most definitely be put into 5 episodes. leaving 8 for volume 17 and 18. Either that, or they have an extended final season 5, like maybe 16 episodes, slim chance of that though, it all depends on how long 17 and 18 will be.
U didnt watch the anime and directly Watched the movie....??? Why...?? How did you understand anything... Are you a Novel reader...? Regardless u should check the anime out my dude
The runes thoughh... really upsets me that the writer of the light novel already wants to end the series... theres sooo much more thst could be explored..
The thing is yes I’m a big fan of the light novels, but honestly, I’ve come to accept it at this point that we’re never gonna get a one-to-one adaptation. I’m not one of those fans that watches the first three seasons of overlord and then suddenly gets upset when the fourth season doesn’t adapt everything. Is it upsetting that certain content was cut? Yes. Would I have rather them kept it? Also, yes. I’m honestly just one of those people who is just grateful for what he’s given. It just kind of is what it is.
The battles were good because of the intensity and brutality. It shows they took in the effort to make it look good. I want to see more of that brutal side of the fighting in the anime.
I really liked the movie, but I'm not looking forward to season 5. The two unadapted volumes were pretty underwhelming. Here's hoping it finishes strong.
When I watch Spy x Family code white, it was a standalone movie. I watch code white in theaters because it my first anime in the big screen and I enjoy spy x family. 1:14 I agree people need to be more informed on what the movie covers and it has a consequence in the future of the series. I understand people when the movie did not cover everything in the original source material in this case 12 and 13
I didn’t like it as a person who’s very new to it (only watched episode 1 and never read anything) I think it’s very meh as a movie I was hoping for more of a spectacle but the fights just cut off. As a movie on its own it’s not good but it’s meh. This is definitely not recommended for people who’s barely if at all seen Overlord that final fight at the end of the movie was very butt cheeks
10:02 I just enjoy this as it is. There are some terrible adaptations out there. 9.8/10 movie in my opinion. Only thing I would change is, let buser die like the other three, it didn't take very long! Just cut the part where ainz messes with him for a minute. Oh well.

Hey Everyone Spread The Word We Want Overlord Season 5
Not really unless they go anime original
Either season 5, or the Next two Light Novel Volumes.
not enough ln content
not enough original content. each season is like 8 LN books.
"not enough original content. each season is like 4 LN books." Each season is 3 volumes, movie was 2.

Guys where did you watch it? Other than the big screen can i see it on a stream? Online and free would be nice too 😢
Sadly, Kadokawa has not allowed this movie to be released on streaming services.
Not bad
Just not for non overlord fans to simply say it
Theres not alot of action like in most movies but wonderfuly made lore :)
Im enjoyed, i was shocked the king was pandora. Just not much albedo scene
For myself as a anime only the movie felt too different from anime so I was just lost and confused in what I was watching.
Speaking for Myself. I enjoyed the movie and think it did more than enough "Justice" for LN.
you can see him pocketing a rez wand in the movie when he called out to her.
Man I'd love if they made a season off the movie like dbs and and Demon Slayer, we still got 4 fkng seasons. My hopes. Big Dady Bones ❤😍
I really don’t see the point in squashing 12 episodes worth of material into a movie.
This story can literally be made longer but uts gonna end in next two volumes, i mean what is the author thinking??
I think they made the best of the time limitations they had.
the movie sounds like it should have been its own anime season.
Hoping for Director's Cut of the movie

@DiegoCastanhoLSH whyyyy 😥 isn't there any way
Isn't there anyway.
