Freak motivates me to hit the gym and finding a balance where i can improve in CS and still get mental and physical gains in the gym while being social irl. I went from a Silver 3 scrub with a skinny body to Global and above average strenght and at least some muscle in the gym in 2 years from 16-18 yrs old. Now im 20 and im still grinding both. I must say thanks to Ryan honestly, what a great inspiration.
Yeah, I hit the gym 7 days a week, been doing so for 2 years, playing lvl 10 faceit and still have girlfriend and social life, its the balance for sure
@@joikabolla2228 not to be "that guy," but you definitely should not be in the gym 7 days a week. Recovery is more important than your actual workouts, and if you seem to be recovering fine at 7 days a week in the gym your workouts are not efficient enough.
@@TheDutySpot yeah, you're right. Unless you are a god that is never sore or just don't feel it which is highly unlikely, you definitely should hit the gym 2-3 times a day but super high intensity.
@@Jake-wr9kr thing is, you'll stop feeling soreness altogether after about a month of training like that. 2-3 days is nowhere near enough, though. you can *technically* get away with 3 days a week doing intense full body exercises, but as someone with a degree in hes working on my phd, with an individual and group personal training license, id recommend 5 days a week in the gym, hitting each muscle group 2 times a week with a heavy emphasis on compound movements.

The point is that "geeky" people are often overly intellectual and they are less in tune with their physical bodies and reflexes. In order for an athlete to perform they must be 100 percent in the moment where as intellectuals are always thinking. It is a simple generalization but it is true, the greatest athletes in grade school rarely had geeky personalities and the geeks were very rarely good at sports. Hence it fits in with the idea that CS is truly sport like. It was an insight on the nature of character that went right over your head.

The way he said about aim that "its just work" made realize that now he really gets it what CS is truly about. At the very end its all about chemistry and getting the most of each invidiual in your team while maintaining clear vision about the goals to reach step by step. Always wished the best for freak because of his genuinity.

People on the outside always say... I would love to play video games for a living... No, No you wouldn't. Just because you play 5 to 6 hours a day doesn't mean you can make it on a team. Try playing 10 to 12 hours a day and hating a game for a year and then get back to us and tell us how much you loved it. If you're not happy you're not happy.
You can say that about literally anything in life it varies person to person but going around saying "you wouldn't want to play video games for a living" is just kinda eh I mean if you were good and was on a tier 1 team they make like 20-30k a MONTH so I would say even if you had to force yourself to play making 240-360k a year plus prize pool winnings isn't a bad gig I don't care what you say you just have to play games it's not like you are doing an actual hard labor job or a job with the risk of death or injury you are just sitting at home playing games or traveling to events such a hard life boohoo yes it's structured but it's a job the only reason people say you wouldn't like to do it as a job is because they don't see it as a "job" they see it as "i'm going to make money playing video games and have fuN!" when in the end it's a job and you just do your job if you look at it like you are just going to play whenever you want and not play when you don't want too yeah it's not gonna be fun but if you look at it like an actual job that you have to put 10-12 hours a day into to make good money then it's a just a good paying job.
