The fact that Spongebob takes a back seat in this game and Plankton is only the "villain" by virtue of being the only real bad guy in a nicktoon at time of production is very telling about when this was made. That weird pocket of time where Spongebob wasn't the single biggest Nicktoon of all time.
I mean I totally would’ve bought Rancid Rabbit from CatDog being the Mystery Rider as well
Fun Fact: SpongeBob was a brand new show around the time this game came out.
And this was the first video game to feature SpongeBob.

When I first saw this I was legitimately unsure who The Mystery Rider was, he had such a menacing voice, his car was so threatening, and when they revealed him...I had NO idea who Plankton was. What little bit of Spongebob I saw didn't include his episode, so I just thought he was like some freaky ass alien and it messed with me for a while...until I finally put two and two together that it was Plankton after years of watching Spongebob.

Honestly though, if you play the game before you unlock him, you can hear Planket's voice coming from the mystery rider car. I always knew it was Plankton the second I recognized the voice.
Finally after all these years. I know who mystery racer X is
Plankton is the mystery Rider and he didn't have a chance to had a Krabby Patty formula

I never finished the game and yet somehow i knew plankton was the mysterious racer. I mean he never tried to hide his voice. Honestly crash team racing did it better
By the way, I've been meaning to ask you, what happened with some of the races during the second and third cup? The music, along with the ending, weren't heard and some of the audio were out of sync and kept repeating some of the lines.
I don't know, the emulator bugged in some races
Yeah, I was going to ask about that, but this wasn't played on original hardware. The music keeps restarting itself during the final cutscene.
Picture that the announcer return in the Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2, he introduces the racers, old ones and a few new ones, and announced Shredder temporary calling himself “The New Mystery River”

Ahh back when spongebob was the best character in the nicktoon games but now he’s the second best now that Zim has joined the roster in later installments not that I have a problem with that or anything
Am I the only one that noticed that the music of this game sound like a repeated loop and quit broken?
Apparently, their emulator was buggy according to another comment. But I also noticed the music in the final cutscene keeps restarting and looping.

I haven't played this in years and I never made it to the end, but I see how the game ends and its a terrible ending.
What's wrong with it?
The first cutscene looks better, but that's because it's hand drawn instead of using the in-game 3D engine.
