    The music reminded me of “Jungle Book”. Like, the old cartoon version. I’m not sure why I had to share that. 😂

    I think the sliding dove tail is amazing ( the tapered version doubky so) and plan to use it and tusked tennons more in the future. For a cleat wall I am toying with making the bottom of the wall pieces at a 45 creating a dove tail. thinking it should be possible to nip the tails of the tool holder so pushing up leaves enough room to drop in. Everything is secure, slidable and no fancy locking.

    Great Video!!!! By serendipity I found your video to help me with a file cabinet. I've been obsessed in making the drawers what I termed;"using non mechanical slides"...I had been wondering now for years on researching my project, why nobody builds drawers with non mechanical slides...or with sliding dove tails!!!:) Gary

    Beautiful and relaxing video. It was very much needed after a long and stressful commute home this evening. I love the idea of the sliding dovetail cleat shelf. It offers a ton of possibilities. I'm looking forward to building one myself.

    For an organizer, dovetail may not be the best choice: if you want to change something in the middle of a cleat, you have to remove everything from one edge. French cleat holders can be moved individually without changing any other holder.
    So, while looking neat, it may not be a good choice.

    • @PelleKuipers
      @PelleKuipers ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It also but stress on the wood in a different direction as opposed to french cleat holders; there most of the weight goes down.
      So all in all I don't see how this is better. It sure looks pretty, but that's about it.

    I use your glue trick with hot glue. It gives me a little time to wiggle the piece in place. Either way, it's a great technique. Love your videos. Always practical and well done.

    The concept projects always seem to crop up when everything is dull, right? I like this concept (vs. French cleats). What's best about this video is, it's a good small project to ease into the admittedly-intimidating techniques of dovetail joinery because the tolerances don't have to be perfect. It's then a small step to make dovetails for dust rails or other components. Thanks!

    Very nice. But I don't find the extra time investment worth it, compared to a french cleat system, or just wire shelving. I think this would appeal to people who just like to do shop things.
