Finally a movie trailer where there’s no plot explained. I just finished to rewatch it after many years and now that I’m older it’s totally different. I got it deeper, and felt it closer to my nowadays reality. The dialogues are intelligent, captivating and make you feel part of what they are experiencing. Characters are not hidden by cliche words but led by true feelings and emotions. I found this simply brilliant, and the actors with their beauties and their acting skills made it look like so natural.
I totally agree! I too watched it kinda too young and just rewatched it now after ending a toxic relationship and couldn't help but relate to Alice. this movie is definitely not for everyone though, I like dialogue driven movies so I really liked it
Yes, it’s not for everyone. Sometimes for people deal with betrayal in a movie can kinda cause discomfort and frustration. Maybe it can, but it’s part of life too. This movie revolves around this, the opposite side of love. There aren’t only fairytales to be told.

I'm sorry but I think it's your fault that you were in that awkward situation. I think it was somewhat easy to tell on the surface that this was not going to be some innocent and pure romance movie. And definitely not a "romcom" (which I think Julia Roberts has done before). That being said, it still has a lot of emotional moments. And truly emotional, not like cheesy emotional moments from romcoms.
A great film! Love is not all rainbows and sunshine, it's intricate and complicated. The characters are also complex - no one is necessarily bad or good - it's just life and their decisions that make them who they are. Well directed, well acted, excellent screenplay. I love this movie to my core!

This film is based on Mozart's opera Cosi fan Tutte. It's not about love but about flirting, lust, selfishness and betrayal. It's about the confusion of following feelings instead of deciding to commit out of love to one person. I find it surprising that the majority of people like films about cheating but are simultaneously revolted and judgmental about real life unfaithfulness.

Sometimes I think the Natalie Portman character acquired the idea that if she hadn't gotten heartbroken by the Jude Law character, that she'd also be dumbstruck meeting the Clive Owen character. You "won't live another day like" what? Please clarify your response. Another day in an unhappy relationship or another day in an 'illicit' union? Your fedility to another person has NO value if it demands that you betray yourself.
the point of no return = defeat, not downfall. defeat is the environment being too much for the person and ergo 'game over.' . So, IMO, there's always a choice, I can give in, or I can resist this. The coldest character, IMO, acted as if he had no choice but behaved as if the world was his oyster.
What I meant was another day like another day down in the dumps. It can seem ridiculous to someone else but a people can really wallow their way through their lots in life. Relationships aren't an outside-in thing. You are in the relationship as an individual and so it depends on you. This film is about a narcissist (Anna) and three sociopaths (Dan, Alice, Larry)
Alice is pretty normal compare to one narcissist and two sociopaths
All of them are a mess.
No, larry is the real narcissist and alice is the only one who did not cheated on them.
