this amv is so amazing! i love the song choice so much! i think that azula was always unhinged but the one thing keeping her together was her tight control over her life. she grew up believing that her mom saw her as a monster and ozai only gave her praise when she performed well in combat. when she's in a situation that she is unfamiliar with she's nervous and unsettled, like at the beach party. and to take it further, when mai and ty lee betrayed her and she found out that her thought process about controlling people with fear was a lie, she no longer had stability in that part of her life and couldn't control everything. one part of her descent into madness in the finale that i really love was when she banished her servants and everyone close to her in the palace, even her mentors li and lo. she banished them before they would eventually abandon her, thus making a future situation that she can't control into one that she can control in the moment. it gives her that control that she needed in her life and removes and unexpected events like the mai and ty lee incident. her character is written so well and i believe that her insanity was always in her, and it would inevitably show itself in time.
i'm looking forward for the netflix adaptation, but damn, i keep wondering if they will be able to find a teen actor to play that azula (don't look easy)
I like to believe that years after failing to corrupt Zuko, she found a way to become a spirit whose only purpose is to create rulers like Ozai by guiding them since childhood. Oh ! And she succeeds in becoming a spirit by the way.

She only accepted Zuko when she thought he was swayed back to the dark side because of her. Deep down she actually cared about Mai and Ty Lee a bit, but due to her father and grandfather she felt friendship and love was through power and fear. Azula even kind of liked Zuko and Mai together. She tried to instigate a moment between Zuko and Mai when they were kids, of course via a prank and being a bully to both of them. She's dealt with loneliness, lack of love and betrayal since she was a child.
The following question is related to Azula. Kurama was neither manipulative nor patient enough to corrupt him (which is a real shame given the fact he's based around the Kitsune). But let's imagine that the Nine Tails was actually Azula. What would the end result be ?
