The virus has caused so much damage...but I believe Sun is still in there somewhere. When our Sun asked the question, Ruin lied. Maybe have Sun ask the questions next time.
NGL THAT MAKES SENSE
Sun was confirmed to still be in there on the Monty and Foxy show.
Also the virus weakens when there's little to no internet connection, which is what allowed Sun to pop through even a little in the first place. I think if they bring him to a bunker capable of blocking any and all internet connection, the virus might go completely dormant, allowing Sun to take control and tell them what he knows.
