My son's name is Dakota and he's known as Standing Bear with our elders, starting with Bear and changing as ageing, Dakota means top Ally, Friend who is #1 that you call on . I had him in foster care after i was assaulted sexually and my foster parents cut off ties with my tribe and would rag on me for my Hispanic heritage and made the rule i couldn't name my baby any Hispanic name, so i said it's cool to name babies after states, new age like, she bought it, so every time i yelled " i need Dakota!" I was declaring i needed my #1 Ally and all infront of their face. I want him to be a friend to all Nations. This Dakota here is a friend to all our ppl obviously, as well
