Many thanks! It’s a lot of extra work with the graphics and processing but it’s very popular and certainly brings the coins to life! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed
Can’t think of a more deserving detectorist than you John. You put an incredible amount of time and work into your channel. Hope the rally is a lot of fun and you and the gang find some incredible items.
Proud of your my Scottish Cousin, ❤❤❤ Scottish Lowlands and Southern Uplands is my Heritage … living in Williamsburg Va. I’ve been Detecting for 44 Years…
Incredible Jocky. Lovely finds, the hammered being the icing on the cake. You’ll have to get yourself a couple of powerbanks and cables so you can charge your camera/ phone/ headphones in the field. Well done son 👍👍
Well done! I remember how it took so many weeks to find your first silver for the year, and now look at one day's bounty. Question: How on earth did people carry or store hammered coins at the time? The coins seem so thin, lightweight and fragile. I keep picturing coins in a pocket turning to crumbles or a coin on a window sill blowing away with the first gentle breeze. Today's scenery looked like fine oil paintings. Beautiful. Great hat. Cheers.
14:58 metal thing with bit for hanging looks like part of a broken whistle , northern mudlucks found part of one recently too. Glad you had such an amazing day.😃
Green with Envy, it's Warmer where John is than Down here in Adelaide Oz..! Got to 17°C yesterday where I am.! 🥶 WTFudge the Worlds all Wonky..! Cheers All. 😎
Great day 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Great finds 🎉🎉🎉 Kept us waiting 😢 But worth the wait. I was kind of expecting the silver ingot you found in the short you posted. Again great dig ❤😊
Well done John! The amazing finds just keep coming! Nobody deserves it more than you. Your love and excitement for history is delightful to see. You have helped me with my own detecting so thank you. Keep it going, see you on the next dig😊
@@thescottishdetectorist I’m so jealous! If I ever go to Scotland, I am going in the winter. From Canada 🇨🇦 I am pretty sure I will freeze there in the summer. 🤣 Hopefully if I make it there, I can hire you as my tour guide! Do you do small metal detecting tours?
Many thanks. That’s what I initially thought too but he didn’t become king of England until 1603 so it has to be on or after that date as the coin references England, Ireland and France, so it has to be minted when he was king of Scotland and England. Thanks for watching and much appreciated!! Best wishes
@@thescottishdetectorist How plausible would it be that your coin is a counterfeit from the 1600’s? That would explain the inconsistency between the date and the symbols on the coin.
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in Tennessee. What an amazingly beautiful place, there in the fields of Perthshire…so similar in climate and surroundings, mountains, as here in the Appellation mountains of northeast Tennessee. An awesome new permission, yielding so many amazing fiends…and SILVER. Still waiting for the “lie down” find. 😊
Thanks to you, I will probably end up buying a metal detector! Until then, thanks for letting us all enjoy your discoveries and live vicariously through you. That view of the field is stunningly gorgeous. It could be a painting.
Love when you start the video laying "on the fields of Perthshire!" 😉Congratulations ! So happy for you and thanks for always bringing us along! Cheers!🍺
Hahaha 🤣 a great run at the minute and hopefully many more great days ahead!!! Harvest is in full swing so literally thousands of acres becoming available now to detect all winter! Can’t wait
Wow another fantastic video and I now know how you feel. Found my first little nugget of gold and told my partner I needed to have a lay down like John 😂 think I was in shock. Awesome .
i´m flashed again about your really great finds on your glorious fields of Perthshire.....Maybe next year i will go in entirement, hoping it could be possible to meet you in Person then for a few days^^...Greetings from northern Germany
John, do you ever worry about handling so many lead items? I know it can be toxic but didn’t know if it could be adsorbed through your skin. How cool is it that we can all come along on your adventures and see all of your treasures! Love your channel!
Queen Victoria's coins Had a 'Bun Head' from 1837 to 1887. 'Jubilee Head' from 1887 to 1892. Then finally 'Vailed Head' 1893 to 1901. There are a Few oddity's as in, a 1893 Jubilee Head 3 pence (3D.) coins was Struck but their Rare ish..! Great Video Lucky John..! 🎉😊
John, just a guess on the lead item that you found at about 14:00. My first thought was that it looked like a piece of a whistle. I looked it up, apparently some antique signal whistles were made of lead.
Another awesome video! Congratulations on all those finds. Both part 1 and 2 were equally fantastic. I know the owner of that property was (as you say) over the moon when you handed those silver coins over to him. Good luck on your next adventure. I'm Martin from the 🇺🇸
John, my hubby and I are curious about what happens to all of your more valuable finds? You mentioned you have given the silvered hammered coins to the farmer who owns the field. Does that mean you only detect for the love of the silver treasure hunt and you don’t actually get any financial gain for all your time and effort? We luv your videos and your excitement is contagious when you find an interest relic or treasure…thank you for including us all in your detecting adventures… 😊🧡
Must be a Anniversary View 2000! Pennies with John. Not a real Scottties Hammered coin missing the stars but Good haul in 5% of new permission. God luck with the rally. Hopefully You can understand what Digger Dawn Is saying I can't 😜🔝❤️
I keep a few of the finds but it’s the finding that’s the exciting bit for me. I love giving items to the farmers as often farm have been in their family for generations so they love the history and connection. I’ve got my own wee museum at home but it’s just great finding these things for me
I'm quite impressed with how you superimpose a clearer version of the coin.
As somebody who detects in the U.S. I get excited finding pennies from the 1950's. What you find is amazing
Anyone else just automatically like the video before you even watch 😅

Yes!!
I Do, if this Gent takes the Time to Let us Tag Along..!

An incredible part 2, love the James sixpence, my favourite out of all of the booty from both videos ❤ I really enjoyed them John.

Your James VI & I coin looked like it was minted in 1593 on camera. What a beautiful coin. Well done you!!

But veiled head only appeared on pennies from 1895 and onwards.

Looking forward to it!
That mystery object with the little hole on the end looks like it a part of a whistle.
Aha!! Amazing Lisa. Thanks so much, I think you’re right!!
The lead piece with the suspension loop looks like a piece of an old whistle....
Aha! Many thanks! I think you’re right Dave. Well spotted thanks
